Quick /ck/ I have 4.5 lbs of Pork Butt and I want to make something delicious in a slow cooker -- what's the best time to cook/seasoning for something good in burritos?

pork butt... if you want it to taste great you're going to have to simmer it in lard if you want that Mexican flavor. It'll taste too stew like if cook it with a lid on. Braising is another option. My favorite pork butt would sliced into 1 inch thick sheets then marinated with adobo and red enchilada sauce and some minced chilies garlic and fried onion. Cooking it in the oven on a broiling pan at 300ish for 30 minutes flipping once. Turns out very tender but not like in the shredding way.

Cooking in a crock pot is literally the same thing as braising.

Cook your pork how you want it, and when it's time to make your burritos, carmelize onions, bell peppers, and chilli's, then season them, add the pork to get it warm, then toss it in your tortilla.
My easy barbecue pulled pork recipe
>take pork butt
>apply rub
>if not feeling lazy: sear all sides of it for about 30 seconds each over high heat
>if feeling lazy: skip searing
>place in crock pot
>pour in enough root beer or coke to cover the pork
>come back 8-10 hours later
>pork should be incredibly tender
>remove and place in bowl
>dump in some barbecue sauce (I prefer Sweet Baby Rays)
>shred the pork
>add more sauce
>consume
I usually do this with 2-2.5 lbs, might have to let it cook longer with 4.5 lbs
