Why is this stuff dominating grocery store jerky aisles lately? I personally think it tastes like shit.
It has a little running guy on the packaging, implying it's for people who are fit, or aspire to be even if they're not. It also has all the right buzz words on the package: gluten free, no nitrites, low fat, all natural, no artificial hormones, minimally processed.
Plus it has "fancy" flavors, so people can feel like they're eating something exotic.
It's all about the marketing and appealing to people who don't know any better.

Dry, yes, but totally lacking moisture to the point of dry rot, no. Even the driest of dry jerky I've had has had some moisture, but Krave is consistently dry to the point that it seems to have passed it's best by date.
I tried the sweet chipotle and while the flavor was good, the texture was like cardboard and wood shavings pulped together. We bought a bunch of jerky for a two week camp/road trip, and it was my least favorite out of the twelve or so brands we gnawed through.

The Chipotle flavor is absolutely based. Not worth the price at all though. Give me old trapper or jack links peppered any day.

All the Krave I've ever had was absurdly moist. Like not even jerky moist. Its alright, but way too expensive.
Other than making it myself I prefer Old Trapper as a brand to buy.
