Hey cu/ck/s,

Can we get a beef jerky threads going? I know there's a few of you with dehydrators. I'm looking to branch out from my usual recipe, do you have any recommendations? I usually do something similar to this:

>1/3 cup soy sauce
>1/4 cup Mirin Rice Wine
>2 1/2 Tb. brown sugar
>2 Tb. sesame oil
>3 cloves garlic, minced or 2-teaspoons garlic powder
>1 Tb. fresh grated ginger
>1 bunch green onions, chopped, whites and greens separated or 3-4 tbs. of dried chives
>1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
>1 tsp. sriracha (or kochujang Korean chile paste)

No.
>>
>>7398154
Have you tried?
>>
>>7398173
You're not going to be able to dehydrate the meat on a microwave.
>>
>>7398175
But have you tried?
>>
>>7398203
What's the point in trying something that won't work?
>>
>>7398147

you can try this method

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfgSCMxttCc
>>
>>7398216
Because maybe it will. You don't know we can't dehydrate meat in a microwave.
>>
>>7398147
I laughed pretty hard at this. 9/10
>>
>>7398242
It's not practical and it won't turn out the same way. But go ahead and do it, don't be surprised you ruined the meat doing it the worst way possible.
>>
>>7398242
That's not how microwaves work
>>
>>7398283
>>7398285
I don't think you guys know how to cook. Everyone with any culinary experience knows that you can do whatever cooking is necessary with a microwave.

>Everyone with any culinary experience knows that you can do whatever cooking is necessary with a microwave
Read my post again you turd. It's the shitty way to do it but hey, if you want to jerk a small amount of meat and go through the hassle of flipping it ever 30s, go ahead.
>>
>>7398346
ok how about a toaster oven
>>
>>7398380
I think that could work. I don't know why they keep saying we can't use the microwave. It should obviously work, and they have no real argument as to why not
>>
>>7398460
Please, make jerky in the microwave and post the results to prove us wrong since we clearly have no idea what we're talking about.
>>
>>7398469
I don't have a microwave.
>>
so....does anyone have any recipes to share

why the hassle?
just salt and hang dry it

enjoy your parasites
>>
>>7398769
No parasites, that's elk and reindeer game meat, not some US factory meat.

Typical american food is its always superfluous. Less is more.
>>
you can always use ur oven on lowest setting for like 4 hours
>>
>>7399274
Takes mine overnight at 60 degrees C.

Literally Alton Brown's method

I forgot how bad the yuropoor inferiority complex was around here

>yuro food inferior
ye keep on repeating this and it might become true
and in this case it is superfluous you fat piece of shit, but i can understand you need to spice up your "meat".
salt bed is all you need with game meat and one shouldnt make jerky with any other meat.

30 seconds and wait 30 seconds, repeat for 4 hours

Jack is a hack. He steals shit and doesn't even know how to cook.
>>
I want to try making fish jerky. I'll probably start with teriyaki salmon.
>>

i never made jerky before but i have an elk roast in the freezer i kinda wanna do

is frozen meat ok to jerky?
>>
I used mushroom-flavor dark soy sauce in some jerky I made yesterday. I love that sauce, but I added too much.
>>
>>7399379
>salt bed is all you need with game meat and one shouldnt make jerky with any other meat.
literally kill yourself

you don't know what you're talking about
>>
>>7399379
>the way something was first prepared a thousand years ago is the only way it should ever be done until the end of time.
>>
>>7399674
This.

I want to take up hunting just so I can have a freezer full of meat to all be turned into jerky. I love jerky. I could eat nothing but jerky for the rest of my life and be content. I want to live off nothing but jerky for days at a time and then think back on the memories with fondness. I love jerky.
>>
This is probably a good place to ask. Every time I make jerky with my dehydrator it comes out with no falvour other than a horrible plastic taste. Anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it or do I just have a shitty dehydrator.

I thought about doing a batch in the oven next time to see if that changes anything.
>>
>>7401076
Do it at room temperature.
>>
>>7401076
do you marinate it?
>>
>>7398480
10/10
>>
>>7402144
Yeah, I leave the meat in a zip lock bag overnight in the fridge.
>>
does anybody have any good venison recipes? the pre-packaged shit is expensive as fuck and kind of bland
>>
>>7398203
Imagine cooking raw bacon in the microwave.
It only gets crispy once it is burned.

There are things you can buy that drains the water from plants to make chips and it might work for jerky.
>>
>>7403072
Maybe you're leaving it in your degydrator too long
