Help me ameribros, clueless europoor here.
I bought some Angus beef patties. How should i cook them for maximum taste? I would prefer to add stuff like cheddar and/or bacon into the mix if it is possible.
Season liberally with salt and pepper on both sides, sear in a skillet or grill them.
Melt cheddar on top, put bacon on when you assemble along with whatever other toppings you want.

Thanks! Would it be a mistake to put the cheddar on the patty before cooking and cook them together? I like slightly burned cheese (when it gets brown on the surface)

Yes. Just cook on one side, flip it, wait a minute and then put the cheese on top and cover it to help it melt.

It's quite common to put a slice of cheddar on the cooked side of a burger after it's first flipped. Be careful with cheddar, it can overpower the burger if you're not careful.
There's a burger place somewhere in the US (chicago?) where they pour on a bunch of grated cheese so it also goes on the grill, then they keep spraying it with water so it cooks bug doesn't burn. Looks insanely nice, never had the guys to try it.
