What are you drinking? What are you looking for? Talk beer.

Had this for the first time today after hearing a lot about it. It's almost offensively drinkable.

My wife suggested they should be brewing an imperial version in celebration of Pokemon turning 20, and call it, "Mootwo."
>>
>>7370612
At work so nothing yet, probably go home and drink my alaska pale ale, or look through the liquor store to see if they have stouts.
>>
>>7370612
I got some of that not your father's root beer at the store today. It's pretty good I guess, just really sweet so I don't feel like I can drink more than one or two of them before switching to something else.
>>
Just got back from the bar.

Tried Dogfish Head 60 Minutes. I'm not a fan of IPAs but I've heard nothing but people worshipping Dogfish Head, so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm still not a fan of IPAs.

Tried Shiner White Wings. Nice fruity beer.

Tried St. Arnold Weedwhacker. It was fantastic. I drank it for the rest of the evening.
>>
>>7370634
It's definitely my favorite of the alcoholic rootbeers, but yeah, it doesn't scratch the same itch as beer. It's like rootbeer with bite and buzz. Which is great and all, but not the same.

They actually did an imperial version with coffee and vanilla called Tiramisoo-hoo that was very delicious. My gripe with tasty, flavored porters is always the lightness of the body.

I'm in Florida, so I get based Funky Buddha porters all the time, but the imperial version is always amazing. Last Snow and Nib Smuggler are two of the best rated porters in the world, but the imperial versions: Snowed In and Nib Slip are literally God's vagina level good.

Old Rasputin is year round and is rarer in Florida than Bourbon County right now. Weyerbacher Sunday Morning Stout is dropping across Florida next week. Be on the look out, seems like it'd be up your alley FL-brah.

I was in Total Wine on black friday and they were letting people buy BCBS by the case. The TW by me didn't sell out for about a month.
>>

Terrapin Moo-hoo is one of those beers that are amazing at the first sip but before the glass is over you'd much rather prefer a more 'real' traditional stout.

>>

I've paid well more than that for a 12 oz bottle and not regretted it. Vorlauf is delicious, but very very sweet. I don't think it should be called a Russian Imperial at all. It's completely lacking the bitter cocoa and burnt cocoa flavors that are emblematically russian to me. Great beer, but the label doesn't fit it imo. I've had their I'm So Excited, I'm So Scared which is Vorlauf treated with coffee and vanilla and that's wonderful and the new Love Below is Vorlauf with chocolate and cherries then bourbon and cabernet barell aged. Glorious liquid.

>>7372151
Last Snow debuts in their tap room on Monday and is then being distributed through the state after. I'm sitting on some bottles of Maple Bacon Coffee Porter which is the highest rated Porter in the world right now, but Last Snow is so much better in my opinion.

>>7372228
My fucking dude. Smutty Robust has probably been in my top 5 most drunk beers of last year. Best representation of a basic American porter there is. I used to love Founders Porter until I have Smuttynose and now there's no going back.

I dont think its an IPA. From the Yards website:

>Based on Franklin’s original recipe, which called for barley, molasses, and essence of spruce, our Tavern Spruce is as approachable and engaging as was the man himself. We source blue spruce clippings from a local organic farmer, steeping them in the kettle to create this one-of-a-kind deep amber ale.

Don't know if it's just a marketing gimmick but if it really is Franklin's recipe that's pretty damn cool.

Drinking this Red Sky at Morning tonight. It is a 10%abv saison aged in wine barrels. I like Heavy Seas and this sounds delicious but I'm finding that the high alcohol (and the high sweetness it brings) combined with almost no carbonation makes it hard to drink. The flavors are very good and the wine is actually very present in the taste but if this just had some carbonation and less sweetness it would be refreshing. This beer is in a weird middle ground and has a unique and frankly good flavor but drinking 22oz by myself is too much.

Love this.. The restaurant may be the only true reason to return to Munich

>identifies flavor
>professional taster
If I noticed chocolate in a chocolate stout would I be a professional? He literally just mentioned flavors that it spells out on the bottle.

Really? I hated Not your father's rootbeer when I tried it

It was basically a wave of rootbeer followed by a wave of beer, it didn't taste like there was any effort made to integrate the two flavors

Gift from one of my best friends. I wonder how it'll taste.

Not your father's rootbeer is the kind of beer that works for you about a 1/4 of the way down then you realize that it literally just tastes like root beer with white rum and a heaping of sugar.

My weak little stomach was not happy with that one.

Nice. I'm not big on Belgians in general, but I still really want to try some Westie.

Anyone else go to Be(aver) My Valentine yesterday? Here's what £20 got me

Agreed. When fresh that beer is really hoppy and boozy, which is kind of nice, but mellowed out is much better

What the fuck is wrong with you wine loving niggers?

Go make your own threat.

Indeed. He had to try calling for 2 hours to get his reservation, and then drive 2.5 hours to the brewery.

Just opened it, very tasty, I like it! A bit sweeter then I expected, especially since it's quite dark.
>>

Tbqh m8 it wasn't that great because the place was absolutely rammed with people. You had to queue for an hour to get in, then an hour to get food, a good 20 minutes to get any of the beers, even the fucking mens toilets had 30 minute queues.

>TFW your favourite Stout is only served in one chain of pubs and they don't sell it anywhere else.

Seriously, this stuff is like crack for me. It's so creamy and substantial that other 'porters' and 'stouts' that I've bought from shops and such just completely lack the right consistency and taste and just taste like the other brands of beer the company makes.
