Fuck I love liver. I find it can be gotten cheap in a local butchers but you might have to order it beforehand. It can be fairl cheap for a decent amount of chicken liver which inhabe the most with onions and goes great with rice. Lamb, Beef, and pork liver are great as well but can be pricey. A good alternative can be heart which I find in supermarkets, not just butchers. Basically for cheap:chicken for pricey:lamb. p.s normally chicken livers are in a plastic pot.

Your butcher is right. Chicken livers are awesome but small so it takes a lot of them to make anything substantial. They're best Brasilian style with chicken hearts. Grilled over an open flame.
