This funky little Asian run deli in my childhood home town has chunks of fresh roast turkey, I get that on a sourdough roll with mustard, bacon, avocado and provolone.
simple is better if you have really good bread.

My exception is on a pork roll egg & cheese bought at truckstop deli at 5am in subzero weather. At that point any kind of hot sandwich with a coffee is perfection.

Never heard of a bistro? There are many where I live. Some are good, some are overpriced shit, but as long as you know which are which you can get good French cooking in a casual environment with dinner for two (with wine) clocking in at or just under a c-note. And you can wear jeans and sneakers, no prob.
