Sailor Jerry's and the Captain are fine for mixing. I'm such a pleb I'll drink them straight, but a rum and coke is the quickest way into my pants short of just asking.

Goslings black is essentially molasses, for better and for worse. What you want with Gosling's is a good, hot, strong ginger beer and some lime. Make yourself a Dark and Stormy and never go back to candy-assed moscow mules.
Demerara rum is also a great investment, and Bacardi is good for what it is.
This stuff is my favorite. Good for both mixing and pure drinking.
