First time attempting homemade cream and I have no heavy cream so I decided to make it from scratch...

The butter was cooled for more than a half hour, the fuck? Tips for second try?

You make butter from cream, not the other way around.

And you obviously don't make cream from heavy cream so I'm not sure what your initial objective was, anyway?

That's because you need an emulsifier, 3/4 teaspoon of bicarb soda (sodium bicarbonate or baking soda) will break the lipids and merge with the protein globules in the milk.
