Lobster coral and tomalley are criminally underused if you ask me. The fact that people throw that stuff away just boggles my mind.

Anyway, lots of good restaurants in Vancouver but the best I've been to so far is probably Hawksworth. Pic (not mine) is of roast venison, crispy spaetzle, squash, salsify, sweet and sour nage.Great food and really attractive plating all around.

A fellow Raleigh dweller, awesome!

Angus Barn is a bit interesting. Going by the tablecloth you were in the main dining room. The presentation there always sucks, apparently because they feel it makes it more "homey and Southern". The taste however is pretty damned amazing . . . . they use high quality beef and dry age it on site. I've never had a meal there that wasn't great.

I ate at the Chef's Table last year. It cost $95 before tip but I got a 7-course dinner that rivaled stuff I've had one someone else's dollar for $300+ at "fine" NY restaurants.

Also the head chef is an actual Iron Chef.

Generally at a "fancy" steakhouse you order your meat and then sides a la carte. He got the "vegetable medley" I'm guessing . . . for the same price there are other sides that are bigger and better looking.

At places like Angus Barn you want to do a little research before you go in, heh.

I live in a town of 8000. The highest-rated restaurant is a mediocre Chinese buffet ranking at 3.5 stars.

One of out favourite nearby places is a buffet run by Mennonites (basically Amish) folk. It's all basic stuff like pic related and pork chops and all kinds of pies. We don't go there as much anymore because they raised the price up from 15 to 20 dollars a person, which my dad thinks is too much.
>>
Europe has Tripadvisor. I usually check it out before I go to a place but now that I have seen the top 10 in Zagreb I am free to say that the rankings are bollocks. The top 100 places to eat have 4 or 4.5 stars out of 5.

I could name the best Italian, Chinese, Thai, BBQ, breakfast spot, brunch, pizza, steak, fried chicken, Japanese, etc. but couldn't tell you the best overall.

I suppose the best place I've been recently was Takashi. Pic is their "cow experiance," you cook it at the table to your preference.

Lol whoops. I should probably delete that post, I thought it was Ippudo in NY. Looks like a lot of the pictures I've seen from there. My b.

I need to go get me some ramen though

The Chocolate Gallery Cafe
Warren Michigan
4.5 stars - 101 reviews

Never been here, probably should check it out, though I dunno what I’d get, as they don’t list a menu on their web site.

MT’s Local Kitchen & Wine Bar. this is the third on the list for my town because the first two are chain resturaunts. I've never been here but it looks ok but overpriced

Ramen isn't about the toppings, and it's barely even about the noodles.
It's about the richness and character of the soup. That's the real star of the show.
Decent Japanese ramen places pride themselves greatly in honing their particular soup recipe, which results in a spectrum of different possible experiences that don't really measure up to the slop they typically substitute for in the west - coupled, typically, with an overfocus on having a bunch of different toppings; but they're actually secondary, at best.

Hey man, it's got 2 Michelin stars. That pigeon must be pretty tasty.

I'm still tempted by the Ramen that includes an egg with it. Ramen with a few hunks of pork and an egg. That sounds good to me.

And then the highest rated restaurant is this place, which I've been to and it's amazing.

They serve meat and meat accessories.
>>
>>7338543
It probably tastes good, but it reminds me of bullshit 80s fine dining where they gave you a single pea and a thimble of lobster
