No beer general?

Drinking this. And on my second bottle in 30 minutes. I feel like an alcoholic now. Oh well, work was rough today.

This is actually pretty fucking delicious, though. Never bothered trying it, because I kind of turned my nose up at a semi-huge brewery making a belgian. Nope, this is is delicious. Probably behind Three Philosophers as the best belgian I've ever had not from the titular country.
>>
Drinking a two hearted and watching the wonder years during a snowstorm. 9.5/10 cozy
>>

god damn, how do the beer threads always die so quickly? this board is so full of shit threads
>>
Feel like a fag for saying this but fuck it im buzzed and dont care. Im drinking Sam Adams Boston Lager and to me its still the best and most balanced beer of all.
>>
>>7337455
Having a bottle of this right now- Trou du Diable Dulcis Succubus. It's excellent- super complex, great balance of bitter, sweet and acidic. Have a 3 year old bottle of Unibroue 17 grande reserve I'm going to crack after this. Line cook and culinary student enjoying the prospect of a very rare day off tomorrow.
>>
drinking 50/50 rum and orange juice and rum. I didn't buy beer today but I'll hang. Fat tire just makes a great beer. it's normally my go to

I got a free can of Best Damn Root Beer with a 12 pack of something else. I wanted my money back. It tasted like a fucking root beer barrel candy dipped in alcohol and too much shitty vanilla. Could barely stomach it.
>>
>>7337455
New Belgium is fantastic imo. It's my go-to when picking up beer from non-specialized stores.
>>
>>7337455
Downing a 12 pack of Miller Lite because it tastes great, is less filling, and I live in fucking Pennsylvania, meaning I'm forced to buy semi-decent beer at a beer distributor and they were all closed. Stopped at a bar on my way home from work and bought a 12 pack.

No regrets.

St. Bernardus 12 is decent, biggest fault most people make is drinking it too cold. You really want to drink it at room temperature. Had the Westvleteren 12 served at a pub, so under perfect conditions, and it was amazing. Had the Abt 12 too cold, it was shit. Had it at room temp, and couldn't tell the difference.

new belgium is one of my favorite brewers I always try their new stuff whenever they come out with something
>>
>>7341270
Portage is in contention for being my favorite porter. It's up against Smuttynose's Robust.

Pumpkick is good, but not the best pumpkin beer. I know they're trying to set it apart, though, and I respect that.

Fat Tire is like my baseline for beer. If you are not better than Fat Tire, you are not worth drinking. It is simple, inoffensive, but super forgettable.
>>
>>7341242
I appreciate how much easier it is to drink than FBS (It's less viscous and more refreshing. I would drink this with food but would drink FBS for dessert) but it's too high of a price. I've got 2 cans left now of Hotbox and Sam Adams Nitro Coffee and I do think Hotbox is better, for what it's worth.

If you're in the US (mainly north east, not sure where else it's available), Golden Monkey by Victory is one of my favorites.

9.5% ABV, yet it's crisp and light relative to its alcohol content. Light, golden color. Citrus smell, clove flavor.
>>
>>7341377
just go to a grocery store and buy some mixed six packs
>>
>>7341398
>Weyerbacher tastes like soap
I've never noticed this. Is it in the IPA's?
>>
>>7341409
what kind of default is 'soap taste' even
>>
>>7341400
Yeah, this is surprisingly not shit. I thought it'd be worse than the 8% high gravity malt liquor beer, but it's far better. Down here in Florida a 6 pack is $12. It's a once in a while beer. I'd rather have one or two then switch to something cheaper
>>
>>7341477
Definitely. It's got a surprisingly sweet taste for the kind of beer it is, so I always switch to something a bit drier after. The ABV gives you a nice buzz too. Also I live 10 min from one of the breweries.

It just occurred to me that in distant alien civilizations, it's entirely possible that the microbial life necessary for alcohol production might not have evolved. They released their release calendar for this year, last year, so it has been announced for a while now. Their new Red IPA brewed with that new malt "red x" is out too. Both are very good. Old Guardian brewed with Pekko hops should be out now/soon as well.

Between those, and all the different colabs they do, all of the constant Stochasticity and Enjoy By variants stone is just taking all my money this year.

I had a couple different session beers in the fridge so i took them on.

This might have been the worst Ballast Point beer i have had, just unbalanced and needlessly bitter!

Had the same thought, taste just brings my mind to both the Sam adams boston lager and Brooklyns lager. Must be some sort of composition of hops that lends this taste to some point!
I once brewed a Vienna lager with half vienna malts that turned out quite pale as well!

Depends on the potency of your beer, how many nights a week you drink, and how many you're drinking in a night.

If you're pounding back a couple weak beers on the occasional night quickly, nobody cares. If you're knocking back a couple of mid-strong beers a night as a precursor to a night of other drinking, yeah, you should be fucking worried.
>>
>>7348267
if you are drinking a light beer then thats normal enough. If you are drinking a legitimate beer, its pretty fast, not absurdly fast though
