Europe:
>PDO foods accurately labeled
>GMO foods accurately labeled
>Consumers have the ability to decide what they eat
North America:
>Unethical companies can put whatever they want on labels
>Knowing what you eat is considered an unfair advantage for the consumer and an attack on free-market values

Ha. I wish

Are there GMO labels on corn in said countries?
>>
>>7327844
being the modern day equivalent of anti-vaxxers
>>
So your government makes farmers go an put labels on like each stalk of corn? Seems like a fucking waste of time when that corn is objectively no different from a human health perspective
>>
Interesting, the country with the most advanced scientists and universities is the one not to succumb to fear mongering bureaucrats. Its nice to live in a place where some of the science policy is written by people with actual science educations unlike Europe where it is apparently written by eco-terrorist organizations

>No evidence of gmos actually being detrimental to health
>Europe knee jerk reacting like normal because gmo is a scary word

But don't forget, they got some Germans to build a massive firework then they strapped some idiots on top of it and fired it at the sky.
>>
>>7327957
Nice, you spent a billion euro building a machine to provide evidence of something existing that pretty much everyone in the field was already pretty certain existed

Also, don't confuse the south with America as a whole. That would be like me saying something going on in the Balkans is representative of Europe as a whole. America has a lot more people with advanced science educations thanks to its multitude of excellent universities, this is not changed by the fact that a few rednecks think the bible is actuall the word of some god and literally true
>>
>>7327973
But the Balkans, your example of the equivalent of your South, are the only place in Europe where GMO labelling is illegal.

Don't Americans possess maps?

Nice anti-science stance.

I think the LHC is cool, but there are countless science ways in which that money could have been better spent. But Europe wanted a giant PR machine instead of going after making actual breakthroughs

In America, "science" is defined as whatever profit-oriented lies the nice big corporation tells us are true and don't ask any questions you dirty hippie.

Actual science, where leading theoreticians and experimentalists test the latest ideas for the advancement of knowledge, is considered obsolete luddite garbage. If you need to know what's true, just tweet the SVP of Corporate Communications for whichever company's product is most directly related to whatever it is you're asking.

>DERP GOOD IDEA LETS FEARMONGER THE GULLIBLE GOYIM ABOUT A PROVEN SAFE FOOD
If people like you were around hundred years ago we would have neither vaccines nor telephones.

I think there is no problem with labelling.

But are there really people the actually believe that a dna change will do anything to them? Like, do people even have the slightest knowledge of how GMO works?
>>
>>7329047
Food allergies are common enough with non-GMO products, and many people suffer from them for years until they figure out the problem, usually by happenstance

Suppose 99% of the population is not allergic to {thing}

Now suppose you start injecting peanut genes into {thing}, or shellfish genes, or whatever, in the name of making some corporation incredibly rich and solidifying their monopoly position.

Now only 98% of the population is allergic, the extra 1% isn't really sure why they sometimes get sick and sometimes don't and none of the usual diagnostic methods work (such as an elimination diet), but hey! We didn't solve world hunger or anything, but some Managing Director got a really awesome bonus that year and bought a yacht. Go science!
