That's what fosters resentment. It's one thing if you're meaning it in a "ayyy pendejo, que paso guey" sort of thing and someone doesn't react negatively toward it. It's another thing if it obviously bothers someone and it keeps happening. That isn't fair, and it's a shitty situation for a kid, but in that situation, the person is either going to have to live with it or move on. If it bothers someone, and that person slings something back, it will most likely come out as an insult and not anything else. Hell, I've even had a Mexican get pissy with me for that kind of shit when I was a cook, and we were totally cool for years before that, working the same station and everything.
