Bought some Water and Milk Kefir Grains for a couple quid each which reduces the cost of me drinking Kefir by 4x

What other foods/drinks are much cheaper when you make them yourself?

Also what are some cultured foods I can make? I made yoghurt once as a kid and just made a stinky mess of it.
