Eggs in everything is the worst current food trend. Especially with avocados and hamburgers. Gross yolk ruins a perfectly good hamburger. And burgers must be cooked well done, no exceptions.

eggs on burgers are great.

Are one of those guys that orders a medium well steak? However I do agree with you "food fads" are annoying.
>>
I've never had an egg on a burger I don't think but it seems like a good idea.
>>
>>7298606
It is. gook an egg sunnyside up to just before the yolk firms up. Then you bite into the yolk on the burger and get that creamy yolk in your mouth.

What am I looking at here? Is that an avocado with the pit replaced with a soft boiled egg, wrapped i some sort of cured pork product and deep fried? Do mine eyes decieve?
>>
>>7298719
I think it's scotch egg with yellow and red tomatos covered in feta and fresh herb. I'm not sure since the inside is fucking green and I have no idea how they got an avocado in there.
>>
>>7299090
oh wait now I see. the core is the soft boiled egg and the outside of that is avocado then the scotch egg crust.
>>
>>7298591
Then dont order something with an egg
>>
>>7298606
On a bacon cheeseburger it's divine. I don't know what that other anon is going on about, it doesn't mask the flavor of the beef one bit, it only compliments.

Not that I'd take that every time on a cheeseburger.

This is how I feel about avocados. What's the big fucking deal? You can barely tell they're there. Almost zero flavour. At least eggs taste like something
>>
>>7298591
I associate not having an egg on your hamburger with shitty fast food. If it's a good burger, it's got an egg.

Egg on burger is the best.

Try a burger with picked beets, pineapple and an egg, heavly
>>
>>7298591
"I got an idea, lets place some gooey protein on that solid protein, and then lets add some salty protein."

Aren't burgers fine with just the beef? Why must they add more of the same? Maybe put some veggies on that burger. Avocado, tomato, cheese, onions, sprouts, slaw, etc. All these add extra nutrients not present in meat products.

That egg inside an avocado looks interesting though.
>>
>>7299166
I'd be pissed if I saw that monstrosity on my plate. Big burgers are pointless, might as well just cut it up, mix it all together and eat it with a fork.

I've always found that an egg on hamburger isn't bad, just that it doesn't add anything to it. If its free sure, but I'll never pay to add it
>>
>>7298591
Thanks OP, now I am in the mood for a delicious medium rare cheeseburger with avocado, bacon, and an egg.

Hell, I may even put sriracha mayo on it to make it extra memealicious.
>>
>>7299188
Gluttony is the most enjoyable of the seven deadly sins.
>>
>>7298591
Egg yolks are pretty much the theme of mayonnaise. If you don't like either one, you wouldn't like it on a burger either I'm sure. It doesn't make it wrong, however, to offer one, nor disgusting, it just means you're closed minded or lacking education, or picky and don't like to mix your foods.

I will eat a well done burger unless I know the restaurant is known for steak and specializes in making their burgers fresh, at the right grind, and made to order. If it's preground and not butchered on site, then the sensible thing to do is to order it at a safe temp at that specific restaurant. Flavor and texture preferences aside, someone who has some firm rule against well done is lacking an education, not some expert of any regard. Sadly we don't all show or dine at the right sort of place every day. The more you know about kitchens, the more you'd not assume the ability to get something rare is some kind of fact of assurance that you should.

I think food trends are fun if they are offered as a choice. To find them offensive is simply having them shoved down your throat too often without other options. To call egg on a food a real trend though is stupid. If anything, the jury is now out on them not being taboo in a healthy diet more than 1-2/week, so its simply a matter of having them as cheap protein agan where we were avoiding them a bit for a while as too decadent.
>>
>>7299168
>That egg inside an avocado looks interesting though.
If you like hot avocadoes. Most people like them fresh or cold.

Guys, c'mon.
>>
>>7300656
I don't think it's picky to not like certain food combinations, however it does seem that OPs opinion stems from autism and the attitude that it simply isn't the proper way to do it (again, autism).

Certain food combinations just taste bad together, although it's always interesting to try them.

I'm with you on the meat thing, providing the restaurant had a grinding system they could take apart easily and sterilize thoroughly every day.
>>
>>7300688
>to not like certain food combinations

that is literally, not figuratively 'literally', the definition of 'picky'

I associate egg on hamburger with Denny's. Enjoy your fast casual meme burger, which is all a burger with an egg will ever be
>>
>>7301379
You're an idiot, but you're right in principle.
When you're buying ground beef from the supermarket, it's a good idea to cook it until well-done; pre-ground beef is sourced from more than one animal sometimes, and that marginally increases the chances of something wacky hiding in it.

If you grind your own or have your butcher grind it for you, then feel free to cook your burgers as you like.
>>
>>7298591
Looks fucking delicious
>>
Rare burgers are not good because they are mushy. Gotta get at least a medium burger.

Steak is different, of course.
>>
>>7303619
Eh, Kuma's Corner does a great egg burger. It balances real well with the pretzel buns (objectively delicious with the salt and good chewy texture) and frizzled onion. It's a heart attack, but you're already drinking top quality beers so fuck your health.

That and they're so huge I almost always take half home with me unless I plan ahead and don't eat all day.

Egg can absolutely compliment a burger. I like mine mostly cooked through, with just enough runny yolk to get sucked up by the med-rare thick patty. Even better with a bison burger when I want to splurge. Adds a good amount of fat and the moisture actually holds it all together like glue.
>>
>>7298591
You are right. It's gruond hamburger. It should be done through. I wouldn't even have medium through with ground beef

Nevermind the avocado add-on.
>>
Eggs on a burger isnt a trend. You just werent paying attention. Theyve been putting eggs on everything in Japan for decades. Also, here in the US, ive been seeing eggs on burgers for about 6 years or so at big chains, and waaay longer than that at mom and pop diners.
Whats next, you gonna tell me egg McMuffins are a fad too?
>>
>>7305407
this. flavour and safety aside, I just do not like the texture of raw meat. have tasted it plenty of times, really gave it the old college try, but it is just too mushy.
>>
>>7306548
you can't eat raw meat like steak. you are supposed to eat a small ammount at a time. like the size of a coco-puff or two with salt on it is a good starting size.
