I don't think you should be eating those animals unless they die naturally or need to be killed. We farm specific tried and true animals for meat - why not grab a pig/duck/lamb or something raise it yourself and slaughter.

Travel to Africa and it's easy. Unlike in the states, game shot by hunters can be sold on the open market there, and people do shoot giraffe and elephant from time to time. You'd be pretty much guaranteed a chance to buy some if you were on safari with or near someone hunting such animals. The even more expensive way is to hunt them yourself.
Joe's Beer House in Windhoek is a good start. Sometimes South Africa culls elephants in national parks and cans the meat for sale, but that's supposed to be absolutely awful. Really weird shit like big cats comes up for sale at Savenor's in Boston, but you have to keep your eyes peeled.
