No, this effect was achieved through the use of motion control photography and "green screen" technology.

Put food in shopping carts at the supermarket? Normally yes, unless you only plan to get a few things that will fit into one of the baskets you can carry instead.

Don't people in other countries do this? How do they take all their groceries from within the store to the checkout if they don't use a cart?

I never understood this shit. I'd have a cart with non-perishable stuff like tuna and beans that I. Can cook on a camp stove if need be. Beer was probably my unnecessary item. Other fuckers (always the fatties) had chips and milk stuffed to the brim.

Is it because they expect everything to stay working? Do they not entertain the possibility of having power out for more than a day at a time?
>>
>>7293679
Two answers, really.

1) Idiots.
or
2) They already have a stockpile of non-perishables and what you're seeing in the picture is the stuff they bought for fun while they're stuck inside.

I live in a pretty cold area but how can people not deal with snow? Maybe you have to drive a bit more careful that's it
>>
>>7293732

I've lived in Denmark so I know all too well about driving in snowy conditions. The problem is that when you go to an area where it rarely snows and people don't have that experience.

I'm currently living in Texas. It does snow in my area but maybe only a handful of days out of the entire year. I always cringe on those days because of how many cars I see in the ditches by the sides of the road.

Yes, we do. You gotta do something to make yourself feel better about digging out of 24 inches(60cm) of snow. And thanks for reminding me, I'm gonna see what food I can go scavenge.

Yes, the country's economy allows even the poorest of the poor to waste monthly paychecks on artificial food cheaply made that contributes to a global pollution epidemic and the problem is that these global 'food' conglomerates are making more dough than imaginable by not only nourishing the obese and metabolically deficient but by plying their trades as course of study to colleges and universities that rely on the financial support and advertisement of these brands that in the long run can be traced to the over cropping and ripping of soil to make these very foods because if the population were suddenly cut from these trans fatty foods, by-products and conserving agents then the following would occur:
A:Earth might stand a chance and humanity might thrive and adapt to having to eat nothing but natural foods
B:the entire county would probably collapse

So I guess we rely on the Superbowl to some extent. Doritos are pretty awesome though.

Those foods have a tremendous shelf life period despite being eaten in one sitting and I would reckon the majority of supermarkets earn a large portion of their incomes from selling these foods to the unsuspecting public. Supermarkets like Kroger and Wal-Mart would have to raise prices on healthier or more natural foods, this could easily send non-edible goods prices like cook wear sky rocketing. These markets would plummet, stocks would be ripped fast, countless jobs would be lost and the ungodly amount of energy supplied to these facilities would cease, in turn causing energy plants to cut jobs and raise electric and plumbing prices. Meanwhile these food companies would crash and resurrect under a different name in a different country, likely a third-world country struggling agriculturally and politically and by instinct these business owners would pillage the lower class individuals slyly allowing them to buy cheap food and convincing the populous to save their money for other frivolous expenditures like housing markets and automobiles, things these countries can't take care of just like the health of their own bodies and own people for that fact.

The last time my town had to prepare for a blizzard convinced me my family isn't worth saving. Parents went to Wal Mart to stock up and they came back with 10 large packs of peanut M&M's, a few family size packs of doritos, 5 large bottles of diet pepsi and a small packet of dry pasta.

Apparently the doritos were our main source of energy, the diet pepsi is better than regular pepsi because 'it doesn't cause weight gain so if someone has to go to the roof and signal for help the extra weight combined with the snow won't make it collapse', and we got peanut M&M's because the M&M's are kept warm by the chocolate so they won't freeze even if we get snow indoors and we can just crack the nuts out to eat something warm (instead of soup or something)

But despite the lower class, homeless, incest, uneducated, countless refugees and immigrants, and garbage entertainment-induced brain dead public we begin to publicize and exploit these shortcomings to the point that the only solution to raising our spirits is turning from these people who desperately need our help, (like food for starers) and focusing on things like Snooki, Kardashians, housewives, midgets, biggest losers, dating contestants, and American Idol that lets the public "feel better about themselves" when we should feel better about ourselves by helping those who can't help themselves.
But after you've seen how much food is thrown to waste after working in a kitchen or disposal team for a supermarket you begin to realize it wasn't you who wouldn't eat your potatoes that contributed to the waste of good food.
Smart parents save enough room for the food their kids won't eat.
Oh yeah, lets not forget about school lunches. Education prices would increase and teachers would be let go, and Beverly Hills would likely resemble urban and rural poverty, slums and ghost towns.
America would quickly lose it's status of power and we would fall under serious danger to ever rising oversea armies threatening nuclear war and global jihad and entire generations after the next risking their backs for their freedom, to eat garbage.

This happens in big cities where parking is already scarce. Residents spend hours shoveling out a spot, so they use that to "claim it" until the roads improve. In most places it has no legal claim, but sort of an unwritten code that your shit might get wrecked if you take a spot someone has dug out.

Also Maryland. The nearest store was out of zucchini and all squashes, onions, garlic, carrots, tortillas, tortilla chips, salsa, and yogurt.

Lots more (milk, bread), but the weirdest shit to me.

Murrica hurr

My predicted potential disaster cart:
Fat free refried beans(2 cans a day for 2 people, better to over buy)
Canned vegetables
Tortillas(1 pack per 2 days)
Beer
Salty snack food(like nuts, to curve hunger)
Vitamins
Case of water(24 pack a day, definitely over buy)
Imodium(last thing I need is to dehydrate because for some reason I can't stop shitting)
Reup on med supplies, gauze, bandages, alcohol, peroxide, etc.
Camping propane tanks for my portable space heater

The thing is, aside from produce and almond milk this is what I normally buy, but in larger quantities. I shop for 2-3 weeks instead of one, except water which I get a ton of because it's used in so many aspects of everyday life. Even washing hands and brushing teeth. Hygiene doesn't end if the rest of the world does, you need to take care of yourself.

Exactly. I mean, in all likelihood whatever happens will last a week at most. But if preventing it requires only a minor amount of work and planning why not? Although, utilities like gas and water shouldn't be affected by a snow storm(unless it gets so cold that the water mains freeze). You can still get water, boil it, and cook food. If you have a furnace and water heater that light off of a pilot you may still be able to get heat and hot water without issue. You may not even lose power. Hope for the best prepare for the worst, I'm not laying around dirty for a month waiting for a thaw.

Why are people so obsessed with getting bread and milk before a snowstorm? There is really nothing essential about bread and milk.

Bread isn't bad, but you have to buy the right bread. Matzos or crispbread are perfect. If you want to eat other bread, you should toast it to make sure it lasts longer.

However, potatoes are way better and if you don't have at least 50kg of potatoes in your basement you should consider to kill yourself

The weather drives people fucking mad, I tell ya. They do three things, none of which make sense. First they buy bread, then they buy milk, and finally they buy gas. You're right, there's nothing to make with fucking brad and milk unless they happen to be planning on making some homemade cheese or something.

The gas is the worst though, jesus christ, WHY THE FUCK would you need to put gas in your car when you can't even get your car out of the driveway?

unfortunately he may just be a new 4chan user. SJW mods are making this place 100% politically correct and any non sjw views are being banned.

I made a thread yesterday asking if people here avoid or seek out restaurants that Chinese tourists go to when traveling because they have good/bad taste in food, maybe you remember it. Banned until today for racism.

Makes little sense during hurricane season, but snow storms are a different story. I drink 1-2 gallons of milk a week, so it's already likely I'm buying milk just because it's time to buy milk. Bread is similar, because I eat 4 slices a day, 5 days a week, sometimes more. Eggs I eat 3 at a time on a daily basis.

The truth is that Americans have very large French toast appetites when bad weather hits.

oh for sure. Thats not even that bad
There aren't any donuts, pies, ice cream.

obviously its not good, but its far from the worst I see on a daily basis at the grocery store.
Sometimes I go the store and only buy produce, a whole cart of produce. And people look at it like I'm crazy, or act like i'm some vegan smug douche, just for buying more produce than processed foods.

I'd say on average about 10% of the items in the avg american shopping basket are produce items. The shoppers aren't even all to blame, we have a major food education and availability crisis in this country

Back in '89 my dad and grandfather actually did this to prepare for hurricane hugo. They were both pretty skilled in survival prep and knew that fucker was going to tear the region a new one and know power, phones and water out for at least a couple weeks.

And it did-- so while everyone was fighting at the grocery store the day before the storm hit or lining up up for water after, we were stocked up on propane, water and all sorts of food and having a great time camping out in the house. Only part that sucked was the day after when we had to help clean up the fallen trees from my grandparent's yard.
