I'm sure there is some 'shopping going on in there. But it's also careful arrangement of the ingredients, and there's all sorts of tricks employed as well. I've heard of motor oil being used in place of syrup (apparently it looks better in the photo/video).

They got in trouble years back because they'd use fake ingredients that would look better than what they serve, use paints to make everything look better. Now you can only use the actual ingredients in advertising, but it's still pictures from beneficial angles, couple hours put into picking the best of the best options and crafting it.
