Out of curiosity, does anyone else in this thread regularly shop multiple stores depending on what they need? I can't imagine shopping at a single store, if I was wealthy and pressed for time I'd probably shop exclusively at whole foods since their quality seems uniformly good, but otherwise every grocery does certain things better than others:
I get my spices and some produce from small local Asian, Mexican, and Indian stores.
I get dairy and eggs and the occasional meat item from one of the big chain supermarkets: King Soopers (Kroger), Safeway, or Walmart.
I buy bread flour and spinach from Costco - the rest of their prices are surprisingly high in my experience.
I get my oats (in 50# sacks), most produce, and other bulk stuff from Sprouts.

We have these where I live too, they're basically Whole Foods but smaller in scale. Oddly enough the one near me is the cheapest place to buy wheat and oat bran, and the only place I know of that carries more than one kind of rye flour - everything else they sell is pricey.
