Who makes the best fast food fries?
That's like asking who makes the best cigarettes.
It's all about which one you prefer and have gotten used to, but they're all terrible and pretty much the same at the end of the day.
Honestly? McDonald's. Everyone else has pathetic soggy gimmicks.

Hardees for curly.
Culver's and White Castle for crinkle cut.
Steak n' Shake for mini fries (not sure if they still have these)

No. The problem with Five Guys is that they actually serve their fries too quickly. Typically the fries go straight from the fryer to the bag with a quick shake of salt in between. There's no time for the excess moisture to cook off the fries, so they end up steaming themselves in the bag and they end up soggy as fuck.
If there's one thing McDonald's does right, it's that they usually let the fries sit in the basket over the fryer for a minute or two after cooking so the fries stay crisp.

Honestly, a good local joint will always beat any chain. There's one close to my house with fries that are similar to McDonald's, but always made fresh and with a consistently crispy texture.

KFC in Australia has the best I've ever tasted, and the seasoning they put on them is like crack. I'd rather know their chip seasoning than their chicken
