Making brunch, thought I'd try my hand at one of these.
First dice your potatoes and put them in a pot of cold water with some salt and a dash of vinegar. PROTIP: Using a memesteel weebknife will make your food taste better

what happened here
do you not have a peeler?
>>7267841
why cold water?
After all the potatoes are chopped, bring the water to a boil, then turn down the heat and let it simmer for a few minutes
>>7267859
I do. It just didn't make it into the picture. As for why the potatoes look like that, I like leaving the skin on but these potatoes are really old and had sprouted already.
>>7267860
We're parboiling them
>>7267877
i see, it looked like you tried to peel them with your knife and gave up lol
parboiling isnt a reason to not bring your water to a boil first i think, its more a matter of preference as starting with boiling water normalizes cooking time
it also lowers the risk of the water boiling over if you leave your stove because you dont want to stand there for 10 minutes watching a pot of water
We've had a lot of OC lately. Nice trend.
Dump half a can of chipoltes in adobo that have been sitting in your freezer even longer than the potatoes have been sitting on top of it into a blender, because you don't own a food processor

Good to know. Most recipes I've seen say to start with cold water. I just never really questioned it
Sorry guys, had to prioritize the meal over this post.
After the potatoes are softened somewhat, drain them
Chop some bacon
Throw it all into a skillet with salt, cumin, hot paprika, a little oil, and a fuckton of black pepper

I agree. I sense something is brewing.

and you aim to ruin it with a tipping image....
Why? Dear god why?
Keep cooking it. Realize you forgot onions. Hastily chop half of one and throw it in. Add a couple dashes of Worchestershire. Completely forget to photograph any of this.

I think a lot of us are sick of this place being used as a shitposting board. At least, I am
Add some eggs and extra sharp cheddar
>>7268134
And stick it under the broiler until the eggs are cooked
WA-LA!
Not exactly haute cuisine, but it sure as hell tasted good
>>7268146
looks good, I'd eat it
>>7267860
Hot water is heated and sits in a tank grabbing more of the metals and shit from the pipes than cold water would. More impurities in the hot water basically.

youre dumb
