Is there really any reason to use anything other than pan frying to cook meat? (with the exception of chicken in the oven?)
Sure, different cooking methods for different results.
Pan fried is good, but roasted in the oven is good, braising in the oven is also good. Slow cooking on the stove or in a crock pot is good. Grilling outside is good too. Poaching can be good as well.

Grilling is less splatter and the charcoal adds flavor. So there's a couple reasons for you. It's my favorite way to cook meat second to barbecuing.
Somebody might answer braising for tough cuts of meat, but barbecuing is once again superior. I love those smokey flavors.
If I can't grill, then I definitely pan fry. So I'd probably answer "yes" to your question. Fried pork chops are the GOAT.

I'm eating pan fried porkchops right now after years of shitty propane BBQ and oven chops. Started cooking steak on pan too and I just can't see a good reason to use anything else. I have heard you should finish a pan fry in the oven but it seems unnecessary.
