I had Whataburger a few times while visiting family in Texas, and I liked it a lot, especially while drunk. Love that they have jalapenos.
There's this place called Sam's Tastee Treat nearby me that is pretty awesome. It's a teeny little place that's been run by this dude and his wife (pretty sure it's literally just them, too) for years and years. They sell burgers, fries, shakes and all the usual fare, but also stuff like egg rolls, crab rangoon, fried mushrooms, tacos and lots of other stuff...I've only ever gotten the double cheese burger and fries meal, but I've always wanted to branch out.
They only accept cash, which is both kind of neat and kind of a pain in the ass since I don't usually carry cash. I think they were trying to sell the place a while back - not sure if they still are, because I haven't been in for a long time (abstaining from fast food for the last year and all), but I sure wouldn't mind getting one more meal there.
Also, the fries are crinkle cut, which I kind of dig. Sometimes they're a bit burnt, but never inedible. If I had to compare the burgers to a chain, I guess I'd say Sonic, but Tastee Treat definitely superior.

Their fish is good, but I fucking love their chicken. Nothing like getting a Chicken & More meal with a side of corn. Their fries and hushpuppies are decent too. They have pretty decent sweet tea as well.

OK french fries, but good burgers, and a fresh spicy chicken sandwich is pretty much the best fast food sandwich you can get. Also they always seem to have homebrew'ed lemonade which is nice

Shit fries, but Two Rodeo Cheeseburgers and a Large Onion ring with fuckloads of Zesty sauce hits the spot. Plus most BK's have a Coke FreeStyle machine.

We have similar tastes and opinions on things.
I'm pretty gay for Shake Shack and to a lesser extent, Fatburger.
Now that I live in bongland I eat out a lot less.
Only one real local fast food place, but two regional.
>1. Rush's
Pretty good stuff in general though it tends to be a little expensive. Burgers, fries, fried chicken, BBQ, shakes, pretty standard stuff. I usually get a chili cheese burger because there's other places for fried chicken and BBQ.
>2. Cookout
Regional, but I fucking love it. They have a diverse menu, and it's cheap as fuck. They also have "Cookout Trays" which are ridiculous. It's $6 and you can pick a main item and two sides (which include chicken wraps and quesadillas) or two main items.
>3. Bojangles
They expanded like crazy around me in the last few years. It's chicken, and chicken accessories. They're quite upfront about this but I still see people trying to order other shit. That being said, they serve excellent food and it's great for a quick breakfast or lunch.
