>>
>>7258548
29 years living in the south i have never seen anyone do this. I have been to the coca-cola museum many times and they don't even mention it there.

I call bullshit I think its just northerners making up stuff to make southerners look stupid.

ok, so the sweetness of the coke tastes nice against the saltiness of the peanuts. It is just something fun people did a long time ago. Older people will do it now, I guess it isn't terrible. More like the equivalent to a meme. Just a thing people did and went apey over. As far as people calling bullshit, I think maybe they are too young or maybe just didn't happen where you are from. I am 39 and my parents did this as teenagers in Starkville, Ms.
>>
>>7258849
Roger that. I'm 44. I witnessed it when I lived down in Alabama 20 years ago.
>>
Not a thing in Louisiana.
>>
>>7258548
shits good, but takes a minute to get used to, i live in GA and just started
>>
My granddad did this. It was kind of neat. You got a little bit of saltiness in your coke and some sweetness on the peanuts, so it turns out alright. It's a southern custom I might just try and resurrect.
>>
>>7258939
try and resurrect is two actions. Try TO resurrect is one action and the phrase you're looking for.

>It's the phrase that pays!
>>
>>7258986
How did you type that with the fedora tipped in front of your face?
>>
>>7259000
I'm thinking about getting one. What style do you wear?
>>
A friend from Kentucky still does this.

meh
>>
>>7259005
I don't suggest it. It's not a style you should try and resurrect.
>>
>>7258548

Not really sure about putting peanuts directly in coke but I have to admit that roasted salty peanuts go really well with coke.

>>
>>7258548
Probably too lazy to crunch up the nuts so one guy jams it in the bottle to soften em up. Then it must've caught on.

Or maybe their teeth are sore from all the chewing tobacco they do in the South

This is a thing, Anon. Coke and peanuts are a Thing.
>>
>>7259130
Shut the fuck up
>>
Fucking loved that shit, now the doctor says I can't eat peanuts anymore.

Life or Coke with Peanuts? Which do I choose?
>>
>>7259141

I'm Californian too but we do stupid as fuck things to food that nobody would do elsewhere because it's terrible.

Things like "live in California?"

I've lived in South Carolina my entire life and everyone I've talked to about this thinks it's weird and disgusting.

>The media spreading lies

Not surprised.
>>
>>7258548
Never seen it, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was an old school Georgia thing, since Atlanta is home of coke.
>>
>>7259098
nah, most people say it was cause of dirty hands
>>
I'm really surprised by how many of yall have never seen this.

I bet you faggots don't dip snuff or drink moonshine.

I worked a wake (catering) where the deceased insisted that peanuts and bubblegum be on every table.
peanuts in coke makes more sense tho. i like sugar and salt.
>>
I live in South Dakota. I've heard people talk about doing this, but I've never seen it, had it, or heard it mentioned in the last ten years.
>>
>>7258548
I'm 20 and I live in Virginia and back in high school all the southern kids would do it. its still a thin in va so much so that at mom and pop gas stations nottels of coke are tapped to small packets of peanuts and sold for 1.80

30 from Arkansas, sup?

I lived in a small town with a convenience store. It had a restaurant and hardware store attached to it. Anyways, we were like the Sandlot gang. We'd walk up there barefoot like a bunch of hillbillies and get coke and peanuts. It was the thing that summer.

Vivian’s dad introduces Ben & Vivian to an old school snack-break, a pack of salted peanuts dumped into a glass Pepsi bottle.

>>7258652
It's called a goober cockatail and that shit is pretty alright. I mean, it's not worth going out of your way to make one, but it's not bad.

I'm 32 from El Dawg, and that was an elementary school classic
>>
>>7259750
Doesn't making them involve nothing more than pouring peanuts into Coke?

If it's not worth going out of your way to do that, it can't be any good at all.
>>
>>7259764
I meant if you don't already have peanuts and coke on hand, don't go get some to do it
>>
>>7258849
who is the semen demon in the pic
>>
>>7258548
I've heard of it, I don't think I've ever seen anyone do it.

Also the article you posted asks the question "where did it start" and concludes with "we don't know."
I think that should be a warning sign.
>>
>>7258548
i'll tell you how it happened
>some guy was eating coke and peanuts
>wanted to be able to do it one handed
>tried putting peanuts in the coke
bang, there, invented
it was likely done out of convenience not because some connoisseur found adding them together made a great snack
>>
I've heard my mom talk about doing it when she was young, probably early to mid 70's. We live in the midwest though and she said she always did it with Big Red.
