Hey /ck/ let's have a cook along thread.
Tonight I will be making "poulet basquaise." You will need:
- Two chicken breasts cut from a whole chicken WITH bones attached
- Green Pepper
- Red Pepper
- Parsley
- Chicken Stock
- White Wine
- Onion (not pictured)
- Tomatoes (not pictured_
First step: pour yourself a glass of wine, it's been a long day
I'm using shitty wine, that's only optional
In a skillet (or pot) bring the oil and butter to heat and then brown the chicken on the skin side only - about 2-3 minutes
Once that's done plate and enjoy!
just kidding
>>7236829
You have my attention.
>>7236839
why are you drinking wine out of a martini glass
might as well put it in a coffee mug
also, i'm watching your thread. proceed
>>7236839
Your 'wine glass' makes me irrationally angry. Please go purchase proper wine glasses before you continue this thread.
>>7236883
>>7236894
It's the only glass I have. I usually use a water bottle - or coffee mug
Julienne the peppers and dice the onion...
>>7236899
oh man I could use a bottle of wine im so jelly.
>>7236899
stop being so sexy
I love that sweet sweet alcohol. Calms my nerves puts me in a happy mood and makes me more affable
>>7236909
In that case it's preferable to just chug the wine from the bottle.
add to the oil/butter/chicken that's left in the pot/pan/dutchoven and cook it for ten minutes at 700... whatever that means
I tried one of those, looked nothing like it.
>>7236928
700 degrees.
Means turn it to max.
>>7236932
700 kelvin to seal in the flavor
>>7236924
>>7236927
>>7236916
>>7236883
By now it should be time to fill up your mug with another glass of happiness
my precious
>>7236944
drinking wine out of a coffee mug as god intended
Add in some canned tomatoes and wait until the liquid reduces by half
>>7236954
hey nice glass
>>7236980
I cant drink Im what they call a schizo
>>7236987
but I miss it soo much
>>7236992
are you responding to yourself?
you okay anon?
>>7237001
yes I like to address myself
Now fortunately we're only going to need 1/2 cup of wine for this next part
you're going to want to add in equal partswine and water. And also some chicken stock. I didn't have any so I used sulfur instead.
return the chicken to it's home and switch to 300
>>7237024
Sulfer? what kind of tomfoolery is this?
>>7237024
Actually made me kek you bastard.
If you were following directions, at this point your wine bottle should be empty and your coffee mug should be half full
also the chicken should simmer for like 25 minutes I guess
Oooooo yea we cookin' w OP!
>>7237034
Jesus man, you need to use a larger pot.
>>7237075
Yes that's a good point. I do not have another pot however. I only own one.
>>7236928
>700... whatever that means
Your hotplate is rated for what I assume is 1200-1400 watts. 700 would be Medium for those that have an actual kitchen instead of cooking in a dorm
>>7237084
So buy another one?
They aren't that expensive new and if you're really that much of a poorfag, go get one at goodwill or a thrift shop or a garage sale or something like that.
>>7237118
it's an option I suppose. I'm planning on quitting my job so I can get a different one that's more accommodating to my time table. So the next couple weeks I'll probably be pretty short on money and won't be able to. I'd rather just save up and buy a really nice cast iron pot that I can have until I'm an old man. Thanks for the inspo, anon.
>>7237154
No problem. It just makes me cringe seeing a small pot like that so close to overflowing.
All right this step is CRUCIAL make sure and recycle your empties. We only have one planet
>>7237179
>dat sharp metal lid sticking up
You'd get arrested for that if you lived in Britain
>>7237205
You left your cutty-cap upwards in your recyclo-cubby
God, if I were a brit fag I'd kill myself
Now remove the chicken and veggies and reduce the remaining liquid by about 2/3
So like is it done yet are what?
What are we making here??
>>7237179
>thinks about something the safety of the world we live in
I like you OP
Maybe add some rice and top with the veggies (are peppers a fruit?) and then use the reduced liquid as a sauce. Garnish with flat leaf parsley. at this point I'm really not that concerned about presentation.
>>7237245
yes
>>7237249
thanks, I like you too
>>7237259
7/10
looks good and i bet it tastes good
>>7236839
My man, feeling the crazy glass. Cooking up some pasta myself
>>7237359
That wine glass is shit.
Replace it with a mason jar or coffee mug pls.
>>7237359
Damn senpai you're rocking the Jackson-Triggs too! Are you a BCfag? Have any recs for wine?
>>7237367
Mason jars are for cold drinks essay
>>7237373
Next province over buddy.
>>7236909
>Julienne the peppers and dice the onion
