Yesterday I realized that McDonalds now had Mozzarella Sticks, which are the third best side option after curly and sweet potato fries, so I went out and got some for dinner tonight!
They taste pretty good and cost about a dollar for each box of three

Still, it looks fucking dumb and its wasteful. I don't eat there often but I remember those square cardboard food recepticles being extremely irritating. They'll have pictures of raw ingredients like bags of flour, ground beef on a piece of butcher paper, a head of fresh lettuce, salt and pepper grinders, etc. I don't know exactly what they are trying to show off, we all know there isn't any of that stuff in a mcdonalds kitchen, it's all premade in a huge factory.

Literally they have hundreds of people working to make their designs are marketable as possible. You're in the minority that doesn't like the package, focus groups like it (for some reason). I know they do and how it works. I used to make decent money on the side being part of focus group studies and doing test market and commercial research. Honestly, I think when it reaches the point that your trusting test market groups to help you decide how to sell a bad product instead of just offering a good product that will sell itself, thats when you've lost your way. But I digress, I never was part of a McDonalds study but I absolutely do not like their packaging or their tv commercials. I have nothing against them either, I'm saying this as an unbiased consumer.
Also if you live in a bigger city who has stuff like this, you oughta sign up for market research groups. You can make up to $200 for just spending an hour watching pizza commercials, looking at different liqour bottle designs, and hearing people talk about things like smokeless tobacco and pickup trucks.

I got the mcdouble with it to get the $2 combo. I was expecting the mcdouble to be trash like always and the sticks to be good but, ironically enough, the mcdouble was great. Hot, steamy, cheese melted properly, the bun was on point, shitty pickles as always but thats to be expected.
Still not going back to mcdonalds for anything but fries, nuggets, or a big mac this year. That will probably be only once too.

The only good mozzarella sticks are battered, not breaded. The best ones are from Walmarts little deli area where they sell hot food. Arbys I think are still battered not breaded. Home made are best.

oh anon, you don't know how much I hate the boxes. Its fine for nuggets but not good for sandwiches. Its hard to lift the sandwich out of it, you can't just pick it up you've gotta scoop it. Then where do you set the sandwich down? You can't really put it back in the box because then you have to fish it back out, I'll usually close the box and just set the sandwich on top like some kind of mongoloid. The only other place with these annoying boxes is Chick fil A if you get a deluxe sandwich, but there I'll deal with it or get a normal chicken sandwich, McDonalds isn't even worth the effort.
