We made bacon-wrapped asparagus for our guests last night. It went very quickly and was probably the most popular appetizer.
Ever make this? What sorts of hit appetizers have you made in the past?

Ramake is always good. I usually leave out the chicken livers though since most people are picky faggots, but just the water chestnut works well too.
bacon wrapped asparagus is delicious. though i prefer when it's one strip of bacon wrapped around multiple pieces. 1:1 is just, i'm sad to say, too much bacon.

bacon wrapped, almond stuffed dates go fast as fuck at every function

try switching the almonds for walnuts+goat cheese
Yeah, I do about three pieces of asparagus to bacon and top it with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. If it is on the grill it usually gets garlic butter too.

Ceviche is always good, miniture crab cakes, small skewers of confit pork belly and soft boiled quail eggs, charcuterie and cheese boards, salmon and wakami tacos, smoked paprika hummus tostadas, guanciale soffrito on crackers with dill and lemon zest, cold smoked trout on baguette with pickled onion and herbed cream cheese, shrimp cocktail, pan fried pot stickers, pan fried perogies, beef tartare, tempura shrimps, poutine cups, pickled veg bowls, quiches.
and many more but thats all im willing to type, love making canapes.
Using bacon and not parma ham, ugh.

Mine also.....like the worst I've ever smelled.

That bacon doesn't really look crispy. Probably was rubbery and pulled off when you took a bite.

Chile con Queso served with tortilla chips is always a good one.
Smoked boudin balls.
Stuffed jalapenos.
>halved jalapenos, scrape stem out
>filling: cream cheese and browned sausage
>standard breading: flour, then egg, then panko
>bake in oven until breading is crispy
Spicy crackers are surprisingly addictive, good for outdoor parties.
>saltines
>red pepper flakes
>minced garlic
>oil
>creole seasoning
Mix everything but the saltines, drizzle it over them then stack the crackers side by side in a container and let sit overnight.
You can probably tell I'm from the south.
