What do you think of fruitcake? There's a store near my home that sells the greatest fruitcake of all time but only during christmas, of course, and I fucking wait all year for it. Every other fruitcake I've tried is either decent or just horribly dry.

Fruitcake is awesome. Even the less-good fruitcakes are still good. I was going to serve a fruitcake I've been aging for Christmas, but wound up with too many baked goods besides. So I'll have on New Year's Eve.

I bought some of that last year after Christmas on sale, because I didn't make my own last year. It's pretty good for a cheap store bought fruit cake. I liked it. I made my own this year, though.
I've never had fruitcake, but I've only ever seen dislike or hate it until this thread.

What most people fail to realize is that fruitcake needs to be rehydrated with spirits. It will swell and become moist and flavorful. And intoxicating, of course.
