Why don't you have an adult job which can support good eating/drinking habits?

Why did Americans ruin coffee?
>>
>>7206486
Americans didn't. Corporations did. Just like anywhere else. Shitty coffee is the norm here, though. Because people use caffeine as a drug, when in reality coffee can be great. It's not bitter shite that you need cream and SUGAR with. No one just take a few minutes to research the goddamn thing that they're consuming and figure it out.

Where the fuck do you live that they're already charging $2.00 for a large coffee at Timmy Hohos?

2bh familia, I am getting sick of their shit though. Too inconsistent, and their coffee is really weak now. It does absolutely nothing to wake me up, and the taste is sub-par. I find myself going to Starbucks more frequently, where I can get a coffee about the same size (but with actual caffeine and flavour) for just more than $2.00.

I went to France this summer. Euro coffee really isn't that great either.

Plus there's no social aspect to coffee in France. You order a coffee, drink it in two sips, and then leave. The only thing Europeans actually sit down and enjoy is cigarettes.

>large black coffee is less than 2 dollars
That's terrible considering how much you can buy a pound of good coffee beans for.
>>
>>7207261

I lived in France for two years and that is one frustrating thing. There are no cafes where you can order a big mug and sit down with a laptop or book to read or work.

I wouldn't say its not social though. The cafes are good for having an espresso with a friend, which french people probably do more than americans by far and a larger swath of society does this, but for meeting people and hanging out for a longer period of time like in american cafes is a no go.

One thing I find funny is that gas stations will little standing tables where people order a coffee and stand there to drink it. No 100oz to go cups.
>>
>>7207274

oh and yea coffee quality there is pretty mediocre outside of american-styled cafes in Paris that are pretty similar to what you would find here in pretty much every city.
>>
>>7207269

So you don't go to restaurants either? I'm glad you finally realized that businesses mark up their products and that you are also paying for the ambience, to get out of the house, and the convenience of having someone else do the prep and washing up away from your own home.

Now you understand why Americans are so fucking fat compared to the rest of the civilized world. Where as countries like France have learned moderation, Americans simply exist to consume. Everything is designed to consume as much as possible, even a simple coffee. It is accompanied by a comfy booth to lounge in, dim lighting, some indie jazz rock, and a variety of enriched pastries that are quickly digested, leaving the person feeling hungry shortly thereafter. Not to mention the coffee rips through you so fast that you feel dehydrated and empty, causing you to order (consume) more.
>>
>>7207281

Yea but those are self consciously American style places that people go to for the American experience that starbucks is selling. Actual French places aren't like that. But yes because French cafes aren't meant for reading or working I sometimes found myself in McDonalds ordering a coffee to use the wifi to work.

>>
>>7207295

Emphasis on *so* fucking fat. Americans are one of the most obese nations on Earth, and it's a direct result of their gluttonous lifestyle. That's not a value judgement, just an observation. Eat yourselves to death for all I care, I'm Canadian.
>>
>>7207288

maybe but I've been in other countries, like Poland, where the cafe culture seems much more similar to America than France, which is a nice change of pace.

Idk most french cafes people pop into on the go and probably walked there. In America unless you live in NYC or a select other few places your life is literally confined to getting in your car getting out for as little as possible then getting back in and never walking anywhere so spending some time in the cafe makes more sense.

It's a Starbucks, not a restaurant. I would certainly not overpay for the same quality of coffee that could be had elsewhere for less while not waiting in line forever.
>>
>>7207295

that's not true at all. Maybe people there are fatter than they have been in the past but you've clearly never been to America if you honestly believe that. A combination of moderation (which americans have no sense of), an extraordinarily unrefined palette that leaves them complacent with eating fatty sugary foods for instant gratification, and very little passive exercise because they live in the suburbs and virtually never walk except to get in their cars is probably what makes americans so fat.

Also you probably can't discount smoking which Americans do much less of.

What starbucks has a really long line, and even if it does doesn't move extremely fast because of industrial-style work processes? Don't tell me you are from one of those eurocuck countries that has lines going out of the Abercrombie and Fitch?

For all of europeans supposed sophistication they sure do enjoy a lot of American's shittiest exports. When Burger King opened in France there were lines that were a kilometer long.

American excess and reliance on sugar to make things pallet-able.
Americans taste buds are so reliant on sugar that they cant ever appreciate things such as a well brewed cup of coffee.
Even in Canada a double double from timmies is the norm but it just masks the shit tier tim hortons coffee under tons of sugar.
