Cuban burger, called a frita. It's half chorizo/half burger. Cuban bread is a great roll choice with that crispy cracker shell and soft middle. Sweet fried plantains (maduros) are a lovely creamy crispy contrast to the spicy burger meat. Little shoestring potatoes on the sandwich make it filling. Ohhh, the fresca cheese!

salad can have just about anything, can incorporate more vegetables, can be a burger if you slap it between two rolls, can be a potato salad, egg salad, or other non standard salads, like pasta salad. pretty much anything can be salad, so it is the superior item because it is so flexable.

Grilling it is totally brainless as long as you use two spatulas and your coals are nice and hot. Compare this to pizza, where you have to make the dough, roll it out, dress the pizza, and chop the vegetables. I collaborate three ways with my family to make pizza, and it's still more work than burgers.
