The problem isn't with enjoying sweet things. the problem is posting something that is literally just sugar with next to no flavor. Most of us here can cook. So what we want to see for sweet shit is a baking thread, or homemade candy. We simply don't need 150 images of nestle products.

Americans drink plenty of alcoho. Alcohol also makes you fat.
Because sugar is literally an addiction, one we're taught is OK to have since childhood. Once you actually start eating less sugar it starts to become unappealing.
i use artificial sweetener when I want something sweet. Sugar rots teeth and teeth are what make eating pleasurable. lose your teeth and life suddenly gets a lot less interesting.
