How close to real crab is imitation crab?
>>
Not at all.
>>
>>7190821
imitation crab is the hot dog of the seafood world
>>
>>7190856
Apt comparison.
>>
I'm not a food snob but I am a Marylander. It's pretty damn bad. Rather eat a fish sandwich from McDonalds.

Surimi's pretty decent if you take it for what it is. Vegetarians don't with their tofurky and shit trying to fool themselves.
>>
>>7190821
Not at all, it literally is nothing like real crab
>>
>>7190821
Imitation crab isn't even fit for dog food.

About this close
>>

far as i know, imitation "crab" doesn't actually contain any crab whatsoever.

its made from fish and dyed/formed to look like a synthetic facsimile of crab meat.
>>
>>7191013
Would you say it's a glib facsimile?
>>
>>7191022
it looks like what weeabos/animus THINK crab looks like, in comics.

considering it contains no crab, yes, i'd say its glib.

my store (food lion) sells store brand srimi that says there is crab in it, when it 2$ a 8 oz pack I like to take the slab out whole, nuke it just to warm and make a sandwiche with tarter sauce or mayo and a lot of pepper. Anybody ever tried a poor mans surimi creole, with tomatos like shrimp creole over rice? might be a good thing
>>
>>7190901
Well that's just shit taste right there.
>>
Not at all. I actually really like surimi, but you should never think of it as crab, or an approximation of crab. Good surimi is good in its own right.
>>

At least some other anon in this thread knows what's up.

Isn't that the point of imitation food?

Read the text in bold. It's in bold for morons. That's just one brand and doesn't cover all brands.
>>
It's no stranger than scrapple.

But... "threadfin bream?"
>>
Depends really, if you put them both on the same plate, maybe 2-4 inches, depends on the size of the plate I guess
>>

Its a panfish, satan.
