This is the correct way to open a banana
>>
I pinch your mom's bum when I'm fuckin' her
>>
>>7185876
Yea, but then you gotta deal with that hard black little thing. Eating from the top, it just stays in the bottom of the peel
>>
I tried that after somebody said it's how gorillas open them and it's less effort. Congrats you trolled me.
>>
IDK why redditors get so adamant about this, the stem side snaps right open with no effort to begin with.
>>
>>7185876

technically yes, it is, and that's why banana peels look the way they do in old cartoons

but when you do this, there is inevitably a teeny brown end at the tip of the banana to confront, where is you do it from the stem you avoid that.

Nah, I've had a lot of instances in which the top fails to break cleanly, and you end up bending and mushing up the top of the banana.

Gorillas also eat the skin after peeling, btw. Then they eat the fruit, presumably to get the taste of banana skin out of their mouth.

Hey, I've been eating cores my whole life. It's very simple. I'm glad someone else eats them the same way I do...
>Eat them bottom to top
Wait, WTF are you doing, sir? No, that's wrong and stupid.

Just take a bite out of the apple like normal except, like, snap it off deeper than you normally do to avoid the core. A small chunk of the core will come out so you can eat a tiny bit at a time. No waste.
>>
>>7185882
>but then you gotta deal with that hard black little thing
you actually don't because it breaks down and is connected to each peel, you must be picking the black thing off instead of just pinching it
it's what my friend tried to do when I told him how to open it correctly
it's easier to "deal with the hard little black thing" than it is to deal with the stem, as long as you just smush the black thing instead of picking at it like a scab
>>
>>7186873
No, it's easier to just grab the large handle sticking out of the banana and yank back rather than fiddle with squeezing the bottom like you're trying to tweak a nipple with two hands.

no, because there's a bitter bit at that end, which you'd start eating at if you opened a banana your way.

I open it like a human, and just leave that bitter bit at the end.

Glorified potatoes. Not too long ago they were chock full of seeds and consisted only of starch, with no sugar. Might as well eat sweet potatoes and call them "bananas" desu.

>>
>>7188370
That's why when I'm craving a banana I boil some sweet potato. 89 vs 86 calories per 100 grams, equivalent protein, next-to-no fat, all carbs - bananas are literally potatoes and you're a pig potato lover in denial for eating them.

you two are fucking morons. you use the peel to masturbate with after you eat the banana.

What the fuck makes any way of peeling a fucking banana correct? A banana is not a human made product, there is no right or wrong way to open a banana.
That said I do open bananas the way the OP picture says.

So, on a completely vaguely related topic, how in the fuck do you peel a plantain?

Because I tried, and maybe it wasn't ripe or some shit, but I had some newfound respect for monkies because shit was hard on the nails.
>>
>>7188578
You cut off the ends and score the peel down to the flesh in a few places and peel off the strips. Lots of people use them when they are unripe, but you can't just peel them like a banana
>>
>>7188601
I learned this the hard way.

I bet pornstars use plaintains, not bananas.

The stem is where it's attached to the tree. But since bananas grow upwards, the stem is on the bottom, not the top. Think of a banana as an erect penis. The tip on the end is where you should pinch to get the good stuff inside.
>>
>>7186873
No, you're not picking up what I'm putting down. There's a little black piece the size of a grain of rice, and just as hard, that's at the bottom of every cavendish banana. Not the peel. It's part of the berry.
>>
who want to fiddle with pinching something when you can tear it?
>>
>>7188681
Opening from the stem pretty much requires two hands (unless you sit on the banana or something). But you can pinch the other end with just one hand, which means you can open two at a time. This comes in handy when you need to peel lots of bananas.
>>
>>7188683
>This comes in handy when you need to peel lots of bananas.
When are you peeling more than one banana?

underripe, just ripe, overripe— snaps cleanly every time.
>>
When the fuck did people start having trouble peeling bananas?
>>
>>7188794
When people like OP started trying to "correct" them, which started when atheistfags tried to resist the discovery that the little tab that you open bananas with is proof of how much God lives us.
>>
Wow, you guys are very productive members of society. Instead of spending time doing something useful in your lives, you're spending your time arguing over meaningless shit. Go jerk off, virgins.
>>

Bananas are a choking hazzard. I know it's tempting to try and see how much you can get down your throat but sometimes it breaks off and that's how people die.

>>

>>

I score the stem with my thumbnail so it reliably breaks where I want to.

has there been a race of opening bananas bottom vs top?
i swear opening it from the stem end takes a split second and doesn't get your fingers covered in banana, who finds opening a banana challenging?
>>
>>7189769
Whenever I open the banana from the stem there's always a chance I'll just end up bending the stem instead of snapping it, and then the banana inside gets mushed.

Bananas are actually the most mysterious fruit in the world because bananas have no seeds and what makes this even more mysterious is the fact that they are found in almost every country in the world.

Now that may not sound so odd at first but let me fully explain this enigma to you: Firstly, banana plants are not trees; they are actually a perennial herb. The trunk of the plant is really nothing more than the plants outer leaves. The real stem of the plant doesn’t actually become visible until it pushes out through the top to produce the large purple flower that will eventually develop into the fruit. Then, having finished its perennial reproductive cycle, the plant dies. The problem here, is that in the reproductive cycle of the banana, seeds are completely absent from the mature fruit! A new ‘seedling’ (known as a ‘sucker’) can only ever be generated from a piece of the plants rootstock and yet bananas are found in almost most every place on earth, even on quite remote and isolated islands.

How in the world did they all get there?
