I need to make a side dish for my parent's christmas dinner.
Unfortunately because we're boring people, every christmas has the same thing:
Turkey with stuffing
Candied Yams (my grandmother's)
Brussel Sprouts with white sauce (from a package)
Mashed Potatoes and gravy
So I need a vegetable dish that is neither potatoes nor brussel sprouts.
Green bean casserole
this is secret recipe that has been passed through generations
u need
bamboo skewers
carrots
1) Punch bamboo skewers through carrots
2) Serve
I hope you enjoy

this doesn't make any sense I'm punching my carrots with the skewers under them, is it supposed to tenderize them? Gordon Ramsay says I can use a frying pan for that.

no you leave skewers through carrots it gives easy way to hold them while imparting flavor

Stove Top Cornbread Stuffing and Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage;
Roast carrots, parsnips and beetroots in the oven, drizzle with honey a few minutes before they are ready.
Simple and delicious.
Merry christmas.
