I am making latkes right now with potatoes, onions, and cabbage. But ha ha, I am also adding bacon and using bacon grease to cook them. Then I will smother them in sour cream and sprinkle with green onion.

No. It's all patchwork, taken from cultures they've diaspora'd through with slight alterations here and there to fit with their dietary restrictions. From Canaan to Egypt to Persia to Rome to Europe.
I like Jewish Deli Food, I mean how can you go wrong with thinly sliced Corned Beef/Pastrami and Deli Mustard? Jewish Rye Bread is delicious.
Matzo Ball soup is crap, I mean it is just Chicken Soup with a giant sponge in the center.
There was a Jewish Bakery nearby my work, their Hamantaschen (Triangle shaped cookies with filling inside) was delicious.
Don't really know much else about Jewish food.

Well I can appreciate it as comfort food in the same vein as Chicken Soup. I just remember going to Canters in Fairfax and seeing a cup of the stuff selling for like 7 bucks. Really now it is just a tweak on Chicken Noodle soup.
