I have a Cast Iron Flattop griddle but its not electric.
Instead it goes on my stovetop and the gas burners heat the griddle.
I Love it !!!
Mine comes with two sides, one side is flat and the other side has grill bars.
I use the grill bars to toast bread and sometimes grill mark stuff when I cant go outside.
But the Flat Side is only good for one main thing.
Making Ruben Sandwiches.
It makes fantastic Ruben Sandwiches.
Sometimes I cook pancakes on it or, crab cakes.
But that is all i use it for really.
To make a Reben you butter some Rye bread and put it on the griddle. Then you put swiss cheese on the bread slices to melt.
And at the same time you heat up corned beef slices on the griddle.
Put thousand island on the cheese for your sacue and heat up some sour kraut.
Put the meat on the bread with the sour kraut when the bread is toasted.
Cut in half, serve with pickle and fries.
