So someone just moved in to my apartment and I want to make them a whole roasted chicken as a welcoming meal. What should I do to it to make them really happy and satisfied (it's a man that moved in if that makes any different I know you guys sometimes say it makes a difference)?
(Nothing crazy, just a tried and true satisfying joyful recipe for a whole chicken in an oven thx)

There's a raw whole chicken sitting in my fridge cook!
I can't not cook but I just thought there were some people on this board who were more knew about cooking stuff like a whole chicken. I lived alone or with people who made their own food for pretty much my whole adult life so I just wanted to do a special good meal and no one has a recipe honestly is that what you do just buy a pre cooked chicken and pretend you are being nice to someone? That is such crap and they can just buy it themselves if that's what they want! Clearly I want to cook the raw whole chicken but I just am not sure if there is something spectacular someone has up their sleeve I don't just want to stuff it's butt with a lemon and garlic injection or sit it on a can of goddamn lager I wanted it to be like aight joyous meal for real

It's a roasted chicken you want to cook? This is pretty basic stuff. Just google? Follow the most basic recipes you find without trying to make it better. Do this a few times until it's not a big deal that you're cooking a roasted chicken. Then experiment if you feel like it. Trying too hard is what makes good, simple dishes suck.
