Disgusting.

What beer is wetting your whistle tonight /ck/?

Currently drinking this. Absolutely gorgeous American style IPA from Britbongland. Fruity and piney, way too drinkable for the ABV.

>tfw beer is my only vice
>tfw on a diet and can't drink during the week

Pressure Drop is a decent brewery, never been blown away by their stuff, but I haven't had that many varieties.
>>
>>7131547
I've had some of their stuff before and it's been pretty decent, but this was a lovely surprise.

I know those feels brah. I tend to take a few days off of beer a week, and if drinking in the week it would be one max (unless at a pub etc.).
>>
>been drinking bitburger and other beers, even just yuengling sometimes
>have never once touched anything like natural ice, bud/bud light, basically anything you associate with watching sports and drinking
>go to relatives house over the thanksgiving break
>all they have is bud light so I figure what the hell

It legitimately tastes like slightly-off club soda or tonic water, but drinks like water.

Is that why it's so popular at parties, tastes like nothing but gets you with 5% each bottle?

Been drinking a lot of Sixpoint Crisp Pils and SIxpoint Bengali lately. Love Bell's Two Hearted on tap or in can (bottle tastes odd for some reason). Also been a fan of Two Road's Old Factory Pils as of late, got kind of sick of the Two Roads Road 2 Ruin IPA (good taste but just had too much of it - excellent in a 16oz can).

Ballast point grapefruit sculpin. Get it before the deal goes through and corona gets their hands on it.
>>
>>7131613

>never once touched bud light

There's no need to lie, friend. We've all played the odd game of pong here and there or taken advantage of 3$ tall drafts at happy hour.

Btw in my opinion, coors light is the best in the category, served ice cold it ends up being more refreshing than some beers which can leave you with an aftertaste and weigh you down.
>>
>>7132958
I don't see the buyout actually changing anything when it comes to quality. I personally will be buying a bit less Ballast Point though

I really don't buy into that "a major brand bought them so now they are shit" story.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Got a 12z of 'calm before the storm' I'm saving for christmas. The grapefruit is my favorite though.

Drinking pic related. Bought at the 7-11 a block from my house. $8.99 for 6. What?
>>
What's a common price for six bottles of beer?
>>
>>7132992
That's what the purveyors say, but it makes sense.
There will be more strict regulations on production, right? Less chance for batches to taste different, right?
>>
>>7133027
$8-$12
>>
>>7133027
Depends on quality and what the production of said beer consists of. I'd say on average you're looking at $8-$12 for a 6 pack of craft beer, but you can find some individuals, 4 pks, and 6 pks that go for a lot higher than that..
>>
>>7133036
Yeah, some of the Ballast are ~$15 for a 6 pack.
I stick in the $10 range.
$11 maybe.
$12, it better be worth it. Hint hint, Rouge.
>>
does any brewery make cases of tall cans? I only ever see them sold individually, or in fours (and those are just 16oz cans).
>>
>>7133178
PBR makes 16oz 6 packs
>>

And Rainier, Bud, Pabst, Icehouse, et al.

Currently recovering after a weekend spend beer sampling in Belgium. Turns out I don't like Belgian beer at all (with very few exceptions), it's always rather sour or yeasty or just on the bland side. I'm more of an English bitter drinker.

If the quality doesn't go down, what does it matter? If anything, the buyout might finally lower the price of Sculpin(s). I've never seen it lower than $11 and I live less than thirty minutes away from the brewery.

>>7133027
Depends. In Southern California, the price can be from $6.99 (SN Torpedo) to $14.99 (Grapefruit Sculpin at some shitty big box beverage stores).
>>
>>7134977
>If the quality doesn't go down, what does it matter?

Because that's a very big "IF". Most likely the corporate takeover will result in a drop in quality. That's what usually happens (though of course there might be an exception).
>>
>>7134992
Last I checked, Saint Archer is still producing some great beer (Coffee Brown are Mosaic are GOAT, post buyout) and Lagunitas seems the same. If anything, it's easier to get fresh Sucks. I'm remaining optimistic about Ballast Point.

Decided to open a bottle of this tonight. Very pleasantly surprised. A good sweet aroma, no overpowering hops, light malt, and refreshing flavors.

For the most part I despise most IPAs. I always praise ones that don't decide to make death by hops.

There are beer distributors in New York, but they generally lean towards six packs and prices are regularly higher.

Whereas I might spend $12/six pack in NY, I could regularly spend $36-$38 on a 24 pack in PA of good craft beer.
>>
>>7138221
Brooklyn Beer is meh. The lager is okay. Personal opinion is other breweries make better beer, even if you're trying to support a New York brewery.

>>7136128
I would try Bell's Two hearted, it has a unique flavor for an IPA that's floral and not bitter. I recommend draft or can if available, or pour into a glass if not.

A debate hopefully someone can answer between a m8 and I. When I drink, I like to chug, mainly because I dont like wasting time sipping the usual shit suds we get out here, something good and I'll take my time but the usual piss? nah. I dont mean chugging beer after beer (often) but as in when I start drinking, I'll just chug er down, two drinks if I'm trying to be slow. Now my m8 says he thinks the reason I get hungover is because I do that, not because of the volume itself per se, and that I should drink at a slower rate, but that my actual consumption per time period is fine.
I know all the shit you can do to help and whatnot, I try to, but he seems to think drinking the actual liquid itself faster is somehow a lot worse, even if it's the same amount you're drinking over time. Any ounce of truth to what he says?
>>
>>7136627

>>
>>7139775
never botherd to sip shots but as long as you're doing the same volume somewhat consistently over the same timeframe it really shouldn't matter, right?
>>
>>7139806
But that's the thing, you arent. You're ingesting more alcohol at once. You're going to get fucked up quicker. Even if you wait an hour, which I guarantee you dont, you're still going to spike your body's reaction to alcohol by chugging a beer in 5 minutes

>Which widely available beer is good?
Craft beer is really dependent on area. What state you in anon?

Lagunitas has an IPA and Pale that are pretty good.

IPAs are a matter of perception, you like them or you don't. Try them out. There's an unfortunate fad where they're throwing a shitload of hops in nowadays. For IPAs that I can regularly get, I like Sixpoint Bengali, Troeg's Perpetual, and Bell's Two Hearted, but there are others I would drink if they were available at whatever location I wanted to frequent.
