Post your favourite BBQ sauce
>>
I tried about a dozen different summers this summer. I have the seemingly unique trait (at least on /ck/) of finding at least one good quality about anything. It could be price, convenience, taste, maybe I just think the packaging is cool, etc.

Pork chops and ribs are great with sticky, sweet sauces. Pulled pork deserves a watery, spicy, vinegary sauce that gets down into all the nooks and crannies. Chicken can take just about anything. Beef ribs are best when smoked with a dry rub, and then served with the sauce on the side. Same with brisket.

Barbecue is my favorite style of cooking. Bar none.

i'm not sure if they still have this. i think they changed the recipe to make it taste like sweet baby ray's.

true kraft original is incredibly distinct. no other sauce tastes like it. that tastes is very nostalgic, it immediately reminds me of childhood backyard barbecues.

People are going to give you shit, but there's nothing wrong with Kraft, Sweet Baby Ray's, KC Masterpiece, etc. They're all good.

they're not bad. they mostly taste of smoke and sugar so you can't use them for everything though.

stubb's bbq sauce is pretty good, it has less sugar and smoke, tastes more like a spiced tomato sauce.

I just make my own sauces now. The only thing I haven't been able to perfect is a white sauce (for chicken). I always make it too vinegary or mayo-y.

The Trader Joe's KC Style sauce is actually pretty good. It's not overly sweet which makes it pretty versatile.

I have a case of the nostalgias as well. When my mother fried chicken, this was always my topping of choice.

Buy it. Taste it. Love it.
We wanted to create affordable gourmet food
that was the best in their category. Albertson's supermarkets said that our sauces were all home runs. Walmart senior sauce buyer said that it was the best she has ever tasted in her life. Many great reviews from California butcher shops to New York delis. There is no better. Everything else is just motor oil.

Rudy's bbq sauce. I've tried to reproduce it with cracked pepper and some other spices and vinegar but it never turns out the same.

I actually saw a national taste test a few years back and Stubbs was #1 and Kraft was #2. Kraft actually beat a shit ton of smaller fancier brands. I was surprised. (I think Sweet Baby Ray's was #3)

I actually just got a bottle of the rich and sassy to pour over some country style pork ribs.
Recommended to me by my lady who worked at the original in Hayward, WI.

Dunno if this counts but it's really good and was a random find, at a gas station of all places. Sometimes one can find interesting things at those places.
