I'm the guy he's trying to convince. Fact is luxury products at the top end have always been handmade. It's just that people who have no experience with anything other than industrially made products and like them fine can't conceive of why anyone might be willing to pay more for better, because the very idea that better exists would upset their worldview. They have to mock those willing to pay more for something that "really isn't any better".
