Why aren't these around anymore, /ck/?
>>
>>7118957
because niggers
>>
Progressive politicians spent decades trying to make alcohol hard to purchase
>>
One of the bars at the university I attended had one of those cigarette vending machines. I always got a kick out of seeing that.
>>
>>7119018
My parents made me play golf during the summer when I was a teenager. There was one of those in the club house. So many varieties.

America is still the greatest country, but I wish it'd quit being so nanny state.
>>
>ICE COLD WHISKY
Jesus Christ, how horrifying.

...unless they have a nozzle for bitters and simple syrup, and an automatic orange zester in there somewhere?
>>
Why do they not have these in Fallout 4?
>>
>>7119075
Found the cvck and homosexual.
Whiskey is best served neat.
>>
>>7119079
In fallout you can drink Mr Handy oil to get the same effect
>>
>>7119101
I man they have whiskey in the game, but the vending machine seems like it would perfectly fit the aesthetic of the game
>>
>whisky
>ice cold
Absolutely disgusting.
>>
>>7119084
>Whiskey is best served neat.
No, it is best served with water. Just a splash. And not via ice. A few drops of water actually opens up the aromas and adds flavor complexity. Ice does the opposite. Though ice does make it "smoother"

Also FUCK "ice cold whiskey"
>>
>>7119084
>Found the cvck
Found the idiot.
>>
Because they arent politically correct?? It reminds the politically correct of a less """"""""""inteligent""""""""""" time period. They feel they have progressed. If those things where really around everyone would be telling the truth and blacks would proove themselves to be what they are while all those politically correct white would probably wind up sucking their dogs off in front of others and get embarrassed, they wouldnt be able to be self righteous after that. Cant have that now, can we?
>>
>>7118990
That isn't what "progressive" means, neckbeard
>>
>>7122248
How fucking retarded can one person be? The progressive movement of the late 19th and early 20th centuries had two main goals: women's suffrage, and alcohol prohibition.
>>
>>7122261
Prohibitionist progressivism is progressivism the way National Socialism is socialism.
>>
>>7122420
You are a fucking retard. How did you ever pass high school American history? Or did you not?
>>
Because everyone is a cµck now
>>
>>7122495
American history is basically Columbus bringing the pilgims here to build a railroad.
>>
>>7122876
>he didn't take AP classes in high school
>>
>>7122248
The prohibition movement was inextricably linked to the progressive movement.

And in the modern form of it, we still have progressives controlling most of the local governments in major cities that control the number of liquor licenses to both solicit bribes and try to curb drinking
>>
>>7122905
It blows my mind that you have to literally ask for some local bureaucrat's permission to sell beer at your restaurant, and progressives still think if they allow fewer restaurants to sell alcohol that will get their "subjects" to behave as the government wishes
>>
>>7122905
That same movement was also inextricably linked to a revival of religious fundamentalism.

So by your logic, are modern-day progressives controlled by fundamentalist christians? Or is it the other way around? Which is it?
>>
>>7122942
>are modern-day progressives controlled by fundamentalist christians
Thats a stretch, I'm not a big fan of either group though
I would say what it means to be a religions fundamentalist has changed substantially while the tenants of progressivism have remained relatively static. Progressivism is still defined by feminine emotional thinking in the place of logic as it always was. They happened upon a few good ideas and luckily gave up some of their worst like prohibition, but it isn't really that different. Meanwhile southern religious politics have been hijacked by some real crazy equally poor ideologies
>>
>>7122959
Progressivism is behind the movements to relax cannabis laws so you can smoke your "dank weed" while getting drunk.

Anti-progressives are the ones trying to take away your intoxicants and make you the criminal you are today, because criminalizing everything humanly possible wins the conservative vote. "Tough on crime", yadda yadda.

You seem very confused about modern politics.
>>
>>7123042
Reread his post.
>>
>>7123042
Progressives fight against things that are legal like alcohol and tobacco, while fighting for things that are not yet legal like pot. They have a great number of hypocritical stances

I think its not any politicians business whether you drink beer or smoke pot, but no viable politician shares my views
>>
>>7123078
I have no idea which progressives you are thinking of. Where I live, the governor has the following policy positions:
>Same sex marriage: yes
>Gun control: yes
>Tax the rich more: yes
>Relaxed cannabis laws: yes
That's pretty much textbook progressive. And he's been a strong supporter of craft beer and craft distilling from both the production and the consumption side
I think you have an idea of a "progressive feminazi man hating teetotaller" who does not actually exist, other than in your mind
>>
>>7123097
The want more regulation of guns, less of marriage, more of alcohol, less of marijuana, more of tobacco, lessening prison/capital punishment, more regulation of people's personal finances
There is no real logical stream to their stances, not that the psuedo-right evangelicals are any better

Its just a bunch of arbitrary emotional talking points, also note progressive is not the same as democrat, the vast majority of democrats in major positions would not be very enthusiastically supported by people who self identify as progressive (though they are viewed much more favorably than republicans)

>feminazi man hating
I wasn't trying to imply this at all. and they aren't really teetotalers anymore, they just are trying to regulate people's behavior while making a nice profit off of them. Women make up the vast majority of the progressive voters, but I really wasn't trying to make any connection to feminism, thats kind of outside the scope of this
>>
>>7123130
Who is "they"? Which modern-day progressive politician wants to take away your booze? I just want to understand where you're coming from with this, because it seems like a fantasy you concocted on your own.

Even the memesters of the internet haven't shown me this one before, and I waste a lot of time here.
>>
>>7123141
>wants to take away your booze
Note that I clearly didn't say that. I was referring to the practice of trying to limit the number of establishments allowed to sell alcohol in municipalities which is a sad remnant of the prohibition mentality that they still enthusiastically support
>>
>>7123150
No names yet? This is seeming more and more like a gut feeling than something based on facts. Kind of ironic considering your belief that it's the other guy who is ruled by emotion.
>>
>>7123158
You seem autistic.
>>
>>7123158
I am pretty sure every major city in america does that

how about de Blasio, he surely is a good place to start. He also expands this ideology to soda and food he doesn't want his people eating
>>
>>7122420
>National Socialism is socialism

But it is. The greatest victory the left ever acheived is to convince people that the Nazis were right wing. Economically incredibly socialist, culturally nationalist.
>>
>>7123172
and cigarette taxes
>>
>>7123163
At least there's a meme I recognize. You lost me there for a while.
>>
>>7123172
De Blasio wouldn't dare move against alcohol. There would be rioting in the streets.

Let him ban soda like Bloomberg tried. There are too many fatties from the outer boroughs riding the subway during rush hour.

Different guy.
>>
>>7123181
I repeat i never suggested he is trying to ban it

The alcohol regulation and bureaucracy around it in New York and most other large municipalities is ridiculously complex and designed to make buying and selling alcohol more difficult. Its no coincidence how much more expensive alcohol is in New York than in rural and suburban areas of the north that have never been controlled by progressives too strongly
>>
>>7123197
What about dry laws in the south?
>>
>>7119249
type what you think he/she meant
>>
>>7118957
They should have those for weed edibles. Make u scan ur medical card and dispense edibles everywhere.
>>
>>7123202
He's saying that anyone uses kekold as an insult for someone who isn't actually a kekold is a retard.
>>
>>7123199
those were univrsally enacted by progressives, and its fucking hard to remove regulations once they are in place. Unfortunately now the south is controlled by equally crazy evangelicals so it probably won't change too quickly
>>
>>7123197
That's because all the little special interest groups are lobbying against each other. The liquor stores don't want to let grocery stores sell wine because they'd go out of business. The bodegas don't want the liquor stores to sell beer because they'd go out of business. It has nothing to do with religion or literal FemiNazis from a secret Gestapo lunar base.
>Its no coincidence how much more expensive alcohol is in New York than in rural and suburban areas of the north that have never been controlled by progressives too strongly
I suppose the $25 hamburgers at Minetta Tavern are also because of the progressives.
>>
>>7123211
>That's because all the little special interest groups are lobbying against each other.
Dude, you can't take responsibility away from the politicians doing this stuff that easily. Everything they do or don't do have various people in favor of it, it is entirely the politicians responsibility to make the right decision
>>
>>7123211
>nothing to do with religion or literal FemiNazis from a secret Gestapo lunar base.
I didn't imply that it was any of those things, why are you just throwing out random inflammatory phrases?
>>
>>7123216
>Dude, you can't take responsibility away from the politicians doing this stuff that easily.
You seem to be confusing this for a conversation about something that it isn't about.

Weren't we talking about a feminist-led progressive prohibitionist conspiracy to take away your booze? Where is it? I've asked you to show it to me and you haven't shown me anything. All there is is the usual business lobbyists and bureaucracy. I'm not in favor of corporate lobbyists ruling this country, but that's an entirely different issue.
>>
>>7123225
>Weren't we talking about a feminist-led progressive prohibitionist conspiracy to take away your booze
nope

Its the inevitable result of a government that allows itself too much regulatory power
>>
>>7123237
No, it's the inevitable result of having a system of legal bribery.
>>
>>7123242
How can you possibly avoid such a situation with a powerful government?
>>
>>7123250
Send people to jail and/or bar them from ever serving in public office again if they accept a bribe, and fine and/or jail people for bribing politicians.
>>
>>7123272
do we not already do that?
>>
>>7123280
No, we don't. You know that dumb movie American Hustle? ABSCAM was a real thing, and it ruined the political career of a man who was far less corrupt and open to financial persuasion than basically all politicians are today. We allow it to happen now, so it does. It wasn't always this way. Or, they at least weren't so public about it.
>>
>>7123290
Politicians have been soliciting bribes for as long as we have allowed politicians the right to regulate the minutia of our economy. Steep punishments for that is a great idea, but I have little faith that its possible to set the penalty high enough, most of them will always believe they won't get caught
>>
>>7123299
You honestly don't think outlawing lobbying would reduce government corruption? Personally, I think it should be considered treason, and prosecuted as such.
>>
>>7123303
Oh, I think it would help a little, but I don't think it would solve the issue
