They're good in a tomato pasta sauce, it adds some depth of flavor but I don't like them straight like some people do on pizzas or in salads. I prefer smoked sardines for that.
My mom used to eat those things on blackbread with cottage cheese, blech!

Anchovies + goats cheese feta on fried rye bread.
Im not sure of the brand we usually get, but its not canned, its in a large, stout jar. Not really a fan of the few canned ones I have had
Most often, I just mash'em up.
Then either whip with butter and spread on toast, whip with mayonnaise and use as a sandwich spread or whip with mustard, olive oil, pasted garlic and balsamic vinegar into a salad dressing.
Some tomato sauces use them, too. Also nice as an aromatic in fried noodles, fried rice and some other stir-fries in general. I make one fried noodle dish of anchovies, garlic, and mixed veg.
I prefer Recca brand.
almost every time i cook lamb i use anchovies somewhere in the process.
eat them str8 out of the can
