I consider cereal a cheat food on my diet, and I have also more recently stopped drinking milk. I usually do a smoothie or eggs or something for breakfast.

Pretty much the only time I have cereal now is to buy a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch every so often to indulge.

I have instant oatmeal in stock because I eat it when camping.

>do you add anything to oats+milk? do you heat it up as porridge or is it just oats and cold milk, no fruit or sugar?
I always cook them to make porridge and didn't realise that some people might eat them raw so I probably should've mentioned that I make porridge.

I don't bother adding sugar because I do add fruit and there's enough sugar in the fruit. It's the warm season here so berries are plentiful. Blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, you get the picture. Sometimes I'll compliment the berries with vanilla and/or cinnamon. Likewise with bananas, and bananas go very well with maple syrup and honey. Sometimes I won't add fruit and just have a bit of spice like cinnamon or nutmeg or I'll just eat them plain. A lot of people seem to like peanut butter but I'm not a fan.
When you cook the banana in the pot with the oats the banana will become a lot sweeter, but if you cook it for too long it will go from solid to sludge to liquid. For reference I use steel cut in the morning which take about half an hour to cook so if you're using quick oats then you'll never have to worry about a banana turning into liquid.
I can't think of any other tips right now.
Very rarely I'll grind up some almonds or walnuts.

Oats are so neutral that you can pretty much add anything you like. Except maybe garlic and onions.

So what does a 'sous chef' have for breakfast? And what the fuck is a 'sous chef'? Is that like a 'barista' at Starbucks?
>>
>>7105623
Sous chef is second in command of the kitchen. Depending on the place they often cover a huge percentage of the workload while the head chef is busy with the business aspects of the restaurant. I've worked at places where the executive chef never even touched food, but those were large hotels.

>A cereal is any true grass cultivated for the edible components of its grain (botanically, a type of fruit called a caryopsis), composed of the endosperm, germ, and bran. Cereal grains are grown in greater quantities and provide more food energy worldwide than any other type of crop; they are therefore staple crops. Some plants often referred to as cereals, like buckwheat and quinoa, are considered instead pseudocereals, since they are not grasses.
