Actually the whole dish ended up being a massive mess. Originally the potatoes were supposed to be standard potato puree but I added too much cream and improvised with a bit of parmisan cheese, once it cooled it became much more firm and had a nice taste to it, I didn't want to cover the pumpkin and carrots with potato while it cooled so I just went for a slightly fancy arrangement, then the duck mixed with the potato and cranberry sauce turned out quite lovely.
I made some pasta with a white wine lemon butter sauce and calamari. Would you eat this at my restaurant CK?

Hey /ck/ first time poster i am doing a lemon tart of my exam using a water glass tumbler however the recipe the school has given me makes it very zesty (more than i find pleasureable) i was woundering if you could recommend (prehaps for garnish or any other techiques) anything to sort of take the zestiness out of the recipe
pic related its the recipe

bumping for this
I didn't take any pictures, but I'm trying to use my slow cooker more and make pulled pork.
Bed of Onions and garlic, 1 cup of water, on low for 12 hours. The pork itself was rubbed down with a mixture of salt, pepper, cumin, thyme, and some cheap basil leaf shit I got at my regional large not walmart grocery store(Dillon's). After it sat out for a few minutes, I put it in the pot and basted the top with a little KC Masterpiece 35th anniversary BBQ sauce. It's thicker and smokier than other sauces at Dillons, without being made completely out of honey like everything else here seems to be.
After 12 hours, I removed it, shredded it, and put it back in, stirring it into the juices in the pot, also stirring in the rest of the bottle of bbq sauce. I put this on high for like 30 moniutes, switch to warm and served it on butter-toasted kaiser buns and a side of spicy pickle spears.
I thought it was excellent, but next time I'll use less water, and maybe put in some liquid smoke. I wish I had a place to put a smoker, as that would be ideal, but no dice.
