Do you watch any cooking shows /ck/?
When I was younger I would always help my mom out in the kitchen, and after dinner we'd settle in to watch Good Eats together. I can honestly say that everything I learned about food I learned from either my mom or Alton Brown.

I watch Chopped, the great equalizer. No sous chefs there.
I like America's Test Kitchen, but some of their stuff is suspect. This douche on the left made an omelette that involved whipping the whites into meringue and using basically your entire fucking kitchen. It probably took him over an hour to make, and he had all the nice ATK stuff to work with.
The omelette also looked really shitty.

I like Chopped and Cutthroat Kitchen. Even better when it's the celebrity chef edition. Pretty sure I've seen every episode of Jap Iron Chef as well.
