>using a utensil to handle a piece of raw meat

whenever people do that i tell them in detail about the time i gave myself food poisoning via cross contamination
food safety and hygiene is important !

>(We get it, you don't like pumpkin pie)
I think it's not about disliking pumpkin pie but liking cream and using the pie as an excuse to have more of the cream.

>using a utensil to handle a piece of raw meat

I do this every single day; grow an immune system, nerd.

I cook a lot of poultry.
I also don't get sick from the occasional bad takeout that takes my roommates out of commission. Weak little baby guts, the lot of you.

Not that anon, but when I was a cook, we'd use a spatula to cook chicken breasts on a grill and then transfer it to a container (we'd use them for salads and shit).

We wouldn't use the same spatula to cook on the grill, but we wouldn't wash it before handling the cooked chicken.

Did this literally every day for three and a half years and not a single problem. They probably did it for the 9 years they've been open, too.

I can understand not liking pumpkin pie, some people have retarded palettes. But what kind of degenerate loves whipped cream that much?
>>
>>7074227
The proper way to eat pumpkin pie is to leave it for someone else and have a slice of sugar cream or pecan or chocolate instead.

Getting toast crumbs on the butter
Leaving leftovers in the fridge for longer than 2 days
Not properly folding the bag of cereal or crackers inside its box.
Not rinsing of condiment bottles that get messy, leaving mustard on the outside nozzle.
Leaving a little amount of food, where it is not enough for a serving, finish it off already!
Not rinsing off plate as soon as one is finished
Not placing napkin on lap before one begins eating...even if at Burger King
>>
>>7080949
Depending on what it is, leftovers usually last much longer than two days. Also you should not be eating in any sort of position where crumbs could fall onto your lap.
>>
>>7080961
I know leftovers keep longer, it has to do with any smell that might permeate and the space it takes up.

And I don't care how tidy one claims to eat their food, there are almost always remnants of crumbs on one's shirt or lap. But it is more than crumbs...could be too much mayo on a sandwich, splooging out onto one's lap. It is best to cover your lap.

I was at a nice fine dining restaurant with my aunt, and cousins one evening. Everyone but my female cousin placed their napkins on their lap as soon as we sat at the table (it is what you are supposed to do) and since my cousin neglected to place her napkin on her lap...the server took her napkin off of her plate, whipped it out of it's folded origami and layed it upon her lap as though she was an infant, I was embarrassed for her.
>>
>>7080987
That's pretty rude of the server, and unless it was part of some written conditions of dining in that restaurant they have no business telling you how to eat if you aren't disturbing others.

I never use napkins at all and somehow manage to not spill food on myself or get it all over my face, I think most people are just very careless.
>>
>>7081014
I thought it was a bit snotty of the server too, it was a very upscale fine dining establishment. I have never known of anywhere having a mandatory policy of napkins on the lap, but I was always taught that is how you eat, with one's lap covered, however neat one may be.

I have kids, and we are sometimes hurried, it is amazing how funky my dining table can get in such a short amount of time. I've seen my 5 year old end up with crumbs in his hair. Ugh.
>>
>>7081046
I hadn't considered kids, I guess that's understandable.

>>7074227
Any "cooking" that involves boxes, cans, mixes and bottles of prepared shit. If you're going to cook have at it. If you're just going to heat up a bunch of prepared shit you've "creatively" mixed together that's fine, too, but don't serve it to me.
>>
>>7082532
I'd wager everyone who serves you food always makes certain to add a few special ingredients.
>>
>>7082582
Doubt it. All of my friends cook from scratch. Family is another matter, and I'm always polite and gracious when eating some of the abominations they serve. That's how I developed the aversion to "semi homemade" kind of cooking. I grew up with a mother who cooked from scratch about half the time. Unsurprisingly half of the dishes she made were good to great, and the other half sucked. It didn't take too long to figure out why.
