ITT: underrated sauces
it's basically horseradish-flavored mayonnaise, but i love it. i like it on almost every kind of sandwich and burger, but it's unavailable in most restaurants.

thai mudfish sauce, this shit is the bomb
tabasco people say its just vinegary hot sauce but its flavor is unique and special. they ferment the sauce to help give it flavor and I don't know of another sauce that uses tabasco peppers.
>>7062669
it's definitely unique.
it tastes nothing like its southern cousins: texas pete, crystal, louisana, etc.
it's best on pizza imo. that sharp vinegar cuts through the richness of the cheese.
>>7062650
Horseradish sauce is great, but for fucks sake buy a real brand.
>>7062669
Need it in chili. Awful in mac and cheese though, so is sriracha.
>>7062703
I like to put it in scrambled eggs and on chicken fried steak.
>>7062727
Sometimes I'll put it in eggs, but usually only a splash and a half. Agreed about the CFS. Also in pinto beans it's a must.
This is my shit. This and gocujang.
Sometimes I like to be bad and put some on top of a burrito.
>>7062629
Lot of Vietnamese places where I live (south of Houston) and all the really good ones have this on tables.

>>7062747
My korean buddy eats something like that by the fuckton. What is it and what do you put it on?
>>7062669
It's still my favourite hot sauce. As mainstream as it is Tabasco is totally unique. Most common hot sauces are very similar, nothing I've had is like tabasco
>>7062817
>what is it?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gochujang
>what do you put it on?
everything
>>7062817
It has a smokey/sweet/spicey flavor and it's great in stews, etc for a bit more depth of flavor. I like to mix a bit with some normal salsa for burritos, like I said. Nice for stir fries towards the end.
>>7062742
I am almost to the bottom of my gallon jug. I love adding it to stews, ramen, soup beans, etc. Awesome stuff.
>>7062867
It's good with beef and vegetables as well. I like to get some cheap breakfast steaks, slice it up and cook it quick with some vegetables and soy sauce etc. Tasty with some udon and kimchi.
>>7062899
If I use it in a stir fry I normally mix it with honey and soy sauce.

>No sriracha
Kill yourselves.
>>7062913
That works, I like to marinate the meat in honey/soy sauce/garlic, cook it up most of the way then add a splash of that towards the very end.
>>7062915
It's because the thread is dedicated to UNDERrated suaces, not overrated.
Speaking of underrated though, sauce hannibal my niggas.
>>7062922
i like you
>>7062935
Tasty shit, anon.
>>7062867
I wish I had a gallon jug. :(
>>7062915
Why did sriracha have to become memesauce? It's got all the shit I like in a sauce: Hot Chilis and Garlic. It's good too, why did baconfags have to ruin it?
>>7062954
it was only $12
absolutely worth every penny
If I don't feel like making salsa verde I'll pick this up.
>>7062976
This is alright and so is pic related. I don't understand people who don't at least get their salsas etc from at least the "ethnic" section versus the shit on the shelves near the prepackaged taco shit.
>>7062962
It's 17 dollars here. I thought the medium sized jar was enough.
It didn't last me a week. :(
another good habanero sauce.
>>7062629
This stuff is so great. I use way too much of it though
>>7063097
Same. The green is way better for some reason. I'll have to try that with hummus, surprised I haven't yet since I make hummus at least once a month.
Pièce de résistance
Any 'stinky' fermented sauce tends to be frowned on by most people
Fuck them, fermentation is an amazing device for incredible flavors you can't get any other way
It's this era of "shower 3 times per day, douse yourself in the approved scents" that causes this stupid attitude.
>>7064666
Sometimes it does make sense to shower multiple times per day, for instance I was working out by the Atlantic side of Long Island one summer. I'd shower when I woke up, go to work, come home after work, go swimming in either the ocean or a pool, shower after that, then shower before dinner so I didn't stink. Showering after a sexual encounter is wise too, then I don't smell of sex.
You must be a filthy smelling faggot with an agenda to push that's never gotten out his mother's basement.
>>7064690
it's completely unhealthy.
yes anything you don't understand immediately is some one pushing some kind of agenda as part of some conspiracy due to brainwashing and couldn't possibly have any reason for what they say.
Either that or you're a moron.
>>7064726
But it's not unhealthy to shower and after or before work where I was sweating or swimming in the ocean or a swimming pool, then it just washes the smells of that off. I'm not talking some full shower like washing my hair each time but it's good to get under some fresh water if even to smell nice for family or the ladies if you know what I mean, but then you don't know what I mean.
Stay in your mother's basement and stink like a rotting fish.
>>7062747
You're a bad man
A very bad man
And you're gonna get sent to the cornfield!
>>7062629
Trappey's.
Good shit.
Not underrated, just not widely distributed.
This is my ambrosia. Mix in ground beef for burgers and use as condiment. Yankee here, it's sometimes hard to find in the States.
>>7062915
>Calling garlic chili sauce by it's retard-friendly marketing me me name
Get cancer and die
>>7065403

>>7062629
Used that in ramen, weirdly taste like spicy corn without any flavors added
>>7063091
>place that serves fish and chips
>no malt vinegar
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>7062807
What do you add hoison sauce to anon? Pho goes without saying, at any resteraunts, but at home i always dip egg rolls or add it to pork and chicken marinades. fucking love the stuff, but it's an acquired taste cause half of the people i serve it to love it and half hate it.
>>7065662
i love this shit.
