>$12/lb
Season it well
Alligator is very bland
>>7058995
Is it normal that the meat seems so badly cut? Or is alligator's texture just like that?
>>7058995
Microwave is what my family always uses. My uncle's nephew and her neice cooked up some of this in a microwave last month for our pastor's weekly bible study and his daughter's flatmate said it was extra tasty/salty!

You're correct. It's badly cut and overpriced.
I understand paying $3 to try something new, but you just bought what are literally leftover scraps for $12/pound.

/int/ plz spread your autism elsewhere
I haven't eaten a lot of it, but it was usually breaded and fried alligator tendies. I don't think I've ever paid money for it, in FL people used to shoot alligators and give away some of the tail. Now most people just call animal control.

>literally leftover scraps
Welcome to global commerce, where leftover scraps command a higher price when they are being sold in a market where the animal the scraps came from is uncommon.

salt
paprika
garlic powder
cayenne
black pepper
white pepper

oregano
olive oil or butter
brush with oil/butter and coat with the spice mixture. Sear it on high heat in a cast iron pan for 1 - 2 minutes on each side.

>>7058995
Carbonara, the gator should be an acceptable substitution for the chicken.
>>7059072
There are quite a few. They raise them mostly for the leather and the meat is just a byproduct as I understand it
