V8 works great in chili. It's a lot more flavorful than straight tomato juice. That being said, it's also very salty, so you won't need to add as much salt as you normally would.

The stews on NW airlines made a great bloody mary for me once on a trip from JFK to PHX. They used some spicy V8 varient, damn that was good. Maybe because it was at high altitude is tasted better then usual but it was really good. Our plane got a USAF escort for a while too, it was just after 9/11 and that was bloody awesome. My GF at the time was a bit freaked out but I was waving to them from the window of the plane. Good times!

I was falling asleep and hear this roar then look out the window, I got a window seat right ahead of the wing and see this jet there, I think it was an f-16. I just waved at the pilot, we saw each other. I'm under no illusion that there was likely another behind the plane targeting it, just in case, and rightly so.
