I hate stuff like this. Managers are so wrapped up in, someone's trying to scam or get something for free, that they miss the point. If they'd just brought your 3rd item, had the correct total, and comped something/given you coupons or a giftcard there wouldn't be a problem.
The last time I brought takeout food back they tried to accuse me of ordering wrong, then tried to accuse me of taking the wrong person's order. When I showed them my receipt, they suddenly had nothing more to say and fixed the order. All I wanted them to do was fix my order since they forgot to put half of it in the bag for me. I haven't gone back there since.

One time I went to buffalo wild wings. It happened to be happy hour so they gave us this extra menu that had the happy hour deals.
They had some bad apps for like 3 dollars each, but what caught my eye was the fact that it said that all domestic beers were 3 bucks.
So I look at the beer menu and under domestics they have the Sam Adams IPA. So I'm like shit an IPA for 3 bucks I'm totally getting that.
So they bring out the check out the end of the day and the IPA is listed as 5 dollars.
So I told the lady, Hey, this is the wrong price, the happy hour menu said it was 3 dollars.

I used to go in there 2 or 3 times a week after work for happy hour and to hang around and have some dinner. The food was decent, the prices were reasonable, the waitresses were nice and easy on the eyes too. And they had an awesome outdoor patio area with a fireplace that they used to run during the winter so I could sit out on the patio and smoke in front of the fireplace.
